| annunz123 (15), Taunton, Massachusetts | | June 22, 2011 Looks like an old supermarket converted to a massive liquor store. Tremendous selection and decent prices. Despite the size of the place, the aisles are pretty tight and there can be some issues getting around when it’s busy. This place is a fair distance away from my house, but worth the drive when I want to try something different. | | BeardBeerGuy (12), stoughton, Massachusetts | | May 5, 2011 A huge store. Beer can have issues rotating through. This allows for the discovery of some vintage imports but beside that not the best place to pick up a fresh ipa. | dashiell22 (2), Massachusetts does not count - explanation | | May 31, 2010 Luke’s has an enormous selection, the biggest I’ve seen on the South Shore. The store is located behind a McDonald’s, in a semi-defunct shopping plaza, which contributes to an overall sense of doom. The store itself is enormous, much like a supermarket, with aisles upon aisles of alcohol, but don’t expect to be offered assistance. As for beer, the craft selection is impressive. I’ve spoken to the beer manager and he’s told me that he stocks every beer available in the state of Massachusetts. I tend to believe him. If you go, expect to be the only one pawing over the Stones and Dogfish Heads. Most of the traffic heads straight to the coolers in the back for cases of Bud Light with Lime. Definitely worth a visit. | | BierBauch (30), Cape Coral Waterfront Wonderland, Florida | | October 22, 2009 This place has the largest selection in the area and a must visit if in the area. There was so much beer here I needed almost an hour to look through everything. Beer guy was not in when I visited but other staff were available to help. Too many beers to list but if it’s available in the area this place has it. | | OldGrowth (132), North Carolina | | December 20, 2005 [ Updated May 18, 2006 ] Finally got around to visiting Lukes. Big box store that is in a half vacant shopping area. Bit run down inside, no windows flourecent lit place. Didn’t ask for or get offered any help so score is left in middle. As much beer as anyplace in Massachusetts. They must order everything that is available in Mass. Crafts are near registers with cases and 12 packs on floor with sixpacks on shelves. Huge BMC spread in middle. Big import section on shelves. This is where the Belgian, german and rest of the world is. Shelves were kinda messy in general, but nothing hidden. Some stuff getting old. dusty bottles. I’ve never seen so much Paper City in one place. Canada and Asia section was getting hit with the heat from vent. Berkshire bombers were on the shelves and not in coolers. Berkshires growlers were in cooler though. Had a bunch of those Concord Rapscallion 4packs that came with the glass. I didn’t think they had been made in a while. Still have Cisco Barleywine with the non red label. Coastal Extreme’s 01-04 on shelf, though I don’t remeber the 05 with them. A little cleaning would go along way here, but maybe they were recovering from holiday shopping. Well worth a visit if in area. They do allow single purchases from sixers. Kind of hidden as it’s not on a major roadway. Pricing seemed comparable to other large stores in Massachusetts. |
