Very cheesy sports bar that has a decent selection of beer (had a 22oz bomb of Firestone Double Jack Imperial IPA, yum), however the very young and apparently under-drinking-age-waitresses could barely take a beer order let alone know anything about them. The Tilapia Piccatta was outstanding and a very pleasant suprise.

(Visited 11/2010): Stopped here as it was close enough to O’Hare, yet not one of the bars/restaurants at O’Hare, most of which I am sick of. The place is on Higgins right off I-90 and Mannheim, and there is a decent sized lot in front. The interior pays tribute to the bar’s namesake, with lots of baseball memorabilia. Staying with the sports bar theme, there are lots of TVs around the two-sided bar, and elsewhere in the restaurant area. There are also military flags, jerseys and other assorted bric-a-brac. The beer selection at Shoeless Joe’s is alright, all things considered. There are around 20 taps, with brewers like Goose Island, Dogfish Head, Two Brothers, Stone, Bell’s, Anchor, GLBC and New Belgium represented. A flight of 4 samples is available for $5.50. As for bottles there are over 50, including Two Brothers, Metropolitan, Three Floyds, Lagunitas, DFH, GLBC, Rogue, Victory, New Belgium and more. Service was decent on a weekday late afternoon. The bartenders were happy to chat about the various beers. I did not have any food on this visit. All in all I would definitely visit this place again during that limbo time where it is too long to sit around ORD, and too short to drive out of the way to a beer destination.
