| drinkwell (11), , | | November 28, 2011 Never like when a brewpub has a commercial or an advertisement that basically states "oh yeah, we also have beer". Tends to reflect in the quality (or lack thereof) of their beers. Nothing bad here, but nothing that made me want to go back | adublay001 (6), Palermo, does not count - explanation | | November 12, 2011 I visited this brewery during a home brew club, booze cruse threw Sacramento. It was a good brewery very clean beers and all around good place. None of the beers there really jumped out at me. They were all middle of the road beers, nothing was bad, but nothing great. | | bnoel09 (20), Elk Grove, California | | May 2, 2011 Went here for the first time for brunch on a Sunday. Overall feel is nothing special, but they do have some nice flowers and plants around that help diffuse the very commercial/industrial feel of the surrounding area. Service was decent - it was our server’s first day but he did well considering and was friendly. Food was good and came fairly quickly. Beer sampler was a good value and had some nice selections.
Bonus was that on Sundays every entree comes with a free 22 oz. bomber to go. The only bad thing is that they don’t have more of their beer available in bottles. | | thetmaxx (21), West Sacramento, California | | March 26, 2011 Hoppy Brewing was decent, kind of a lunch type selection. Ambiance was nothing special. I had the ruben sandwich was good. And the beer sampler, the ones that are bottled are the best, but they are all pretty good beers. People are saying they are too hoppy... And honestly if your a Bud Light drinker I would understand, but I thought the hoppiness was very will balanced on each of their styles. So overall a decent place that I may visit again when I’m in the area. | | theOptimator (23), Sacramento, California | | January 12, 2011 Not a fan. First and foremost, Hoppy doesnt make very good beer IMO. As for selection.... it sucks because you cant get anything but Hoppy beer. The waitress, while nice, didnt know anything about the beer. The food was OK. If you want local brewery/pub grub in Sac...., go to Rubicon. Better beer, food, and location. | | Oscbert (11), Sacramento, California | | April 29, 2010 Great place. Good vibe, good food and good beer. Plus it’s right down the street where I live. | | seanosean (10), Salt Lake City, Utah | | August 4, 2009 I went there many yyears ago and for some forgotten reason, didn;t like ti at all. Went there again twice in the last year and have had great experiences both times. Atmosphere is great and the beer selection is awesome and well balanced for every taste. Try the amber-you won’t regret it. I’m not a big stout drinker, but it was dark and rich and well, pretty damned good.
We really appreciated that after calling around all day, this was the one pub/brewry in Sacramento that was showing the Stanley Cup playoffs on the T.V. -the main reason we went there. The new reason is for the great beer.
I travel a lot and it’s now my 1st choice in Sacramento. | | stoad (21), laguna niguel, California | | December 29, 2008 I’ve stopped by a few times when visiting in-laws. Always a fair selection of their own brews. Never had their food. Beer has been above average brewpub product. Maybe because it is nearby a college campus that it seems the staff initially pitches the beers by ABV rather than style? They seem to have a fair grasp of the brews upon further inquiry. Typically there are 2 or 3 of which I think are worth a second visit. Their 8.9% One Love Ale, an imperial red style, is worth seeking out. | | DYCSoccer17 (244), Woodland, California | | September 30, 2007 [ Updated November 19, 2010 ] Thought I had rated this before. Oh well, I have been here a few times. Very wide open, yet congested dining area on the right as you enter. There is also a side room and a patio. Bar is centrally with ample seating. Brewery is located in the back. Menu is kind of limited and the food was amazingly regular. They had about 7-8 beers on tap with a few seasonals, as well. Service was a tad slow the few times I had been there. Despite these annoying shortcomings, the beer here is really good and there is a decent selection. Probably one of the best places in Sacramento. Just recently visited again and the service was god-awful. I don’t have much of a reason to return. | | bhensonb (375), Woodland, California | | June 29, 2007 Great food. Nice venue. Usually a new ale to try. Service is always good. Eat on Sunday and, so far, there is a free take away bomber for each entree ordered. Food has always been good. |
