| peteinSD (34), San Diego, California | | May 16, 2012 The only pizza port with two floors! Otherwise pretty similar to the others although it does have a nice seating area on the outside by the entrance where you can watch the day slip away while you enjoy the excellent beers made there and the guest beers. | | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | February 23, 2012 Went here on a weekday afternoon, very empty and quiet. Typical Pizza Port layout, open seating and a decent sized bar. Service from the bar tender was good, talked about the beers and offered samples. Selection is great, lots of different beers brewed on premises as well as great guess taps. Food is excellent and good value. Overall not my favorite Pizza Port, but a cool place and worth the stop. | | daknole (204), Scottsdale, Arizona | | November 3, 2011 What a badass place! Awesome selection and kick butt pizza. Rock on! | | presario (135), Stampede City, Alberta | | October 9, 2011 First impression was that it was LOUD. Went Friday night and top floor was mostly kids who were repaved by MLB playoff fans. Order at the bar and listen for your name to get some very good pizza. Half house beers and half guest taps. Bartender was great, friendly and helpful. | | fiver29 (48), Cleveland, Ohio | | September 2, 2011 This was my 3rd favorite Pizza Port out of the 4 in town. Medium open space with a smal patio relative to the other PP’s. Same layout as the others. One line for food and the other for beer. This place has a great tap list for brewed beers on site and a great guest tap list as well that rotates often.
This location has 2 floors where you can eat and drink. The parking lot on the roof is where they do events. Its pretty cool. A great local crowd come in on Saturday night for a pizza and beer dinner. It creates a great vibe and place I’d like to drink at all night. Overall a great value and fun place. | | Dixonian (79), Dallas, Texas | | August 1, 2011 Visited here on a recent work trip to the OC and was incredibly pleased. The pizza is delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the beers were great. I got tasters of various Port brews. Once I told the bartender I was visiting from out of town and wanted to try and many of their beers as possible she kept pouring tasters for me until I had tried just about everything they had on tap. Great value and you can’t beat being this close to the beach. Love this place and wish I had gotten to their other locations. | | GT2 (196), Washington DC | | July 13, 2011 [ Updated February 22, 2012 ] Very fun place to stop by to relax in San Clemente- a beautiful town between LA and San Diego. Can easily stop over here on your way to Pizza Port Carlsbad, San Marcos/Escondido for Lost Abbey and Stone if you are doing a beer roadtrip. The San Clemente location sort of looks like a Mexican restaurant from the outside with lots of open air space. Brew equipment is right up inside the bar space. Tap list is extensive covering usually about 15-20 house beers and a decent selection of guest taps. Maybe a smaller variety than at PP Carlsbad. Pizza here is outstanding like at all Pizza Ports though I have *heard* that the pizza at this one is the best...but that’s all subjective. If this is the only Pizza Port you plan on visiting, you must get the barbecue chicken pizza. It is so unbelievable. | | Terminus (233), Las Cruces, New Mexico | | June 22, 2011 love this place-my fav of the 3 pizza port locations i visited. i was really impressed by the staff, the layout of the building, the beer selection and the value. I had a great time at this place and will definately go back when im in CA. I would like to have spent more time here but i had other breweries to hit the day i was there. A must visit for any beer person in the LA/SD area. | | Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | June 1, 2011 (Visited 08/2010): My third Pizza Port, and while nothing will ever touch Solana Beach in my heart of hearts, this is still a cool joint. Located in San Clemente on El Camino Real, there is rooftop parking available.
The brewpub is multi level with patios on both floors. The brewing equipment is viewable from both levels, and both floors have bars. The downstairs bar is longer, and that is where you order the pizza too. Same communal vibe as the other locations with long picnic benches.
San Clemente’s beer line up is extensive. Nearly 15 Pizza Port brews available (although a couple were "guest" brews from other locations) plus an array of guest taps from brewers like Karl Strauss, Triple Rock and New English. Pizza Port’s beers are all well executed and run the gamut of styles from Cream Ale to IIPA and Imperial Stout and everything in between. Not a bad one in the bunch, and we tried ’em all.
Service was very good on our lunch visit. The place was not busy anyway but our bartender was very friendly and accommodating with our long line of sample glasses.
Pizza Port’s pizza is awesome, ’nuff said.
Overall I consider any Pizza Port worth visiting, even if it means a long drive. One of my favorite spots in CA. | allison (5), Alabama does not count - explanation | | April 13, 2011 Great pizza/beer hang-out. This location has 2 levels with 2 bars and the restaurant order counter (pizza, pasta, salad). Great pizza and I enjoy picking my own. Good, but not huge, selection of beers on draught, and always something new and interesting to try. |
