A cute little two-floor brewpub that meets all the basic requirements for a great beer experience: quality beer (both in-house and guest taps), good food, and a carefree casual atmosphere. Personally, I love the Pizza Port formula. The head brewer Noah is a gentlemen and a passionate brewer, which can only bode well for Pizza Port’s future. There is, unfortunately, a valid knock on this place. The design of the interior appears to be a second-thought. For instance, a stairwell winds down to the main floor right through the heart of the brewpub, obscuring one’s passage to the food-ordering area and generally just acting as a huge roadblock. Similarly, the main dining area -- indicated by long wooden picnic-like tables -- is almost completely separated from both the bar and ordering area. Both design flaws pose serious dilemmas for the casual diner and drinker. Other than that, what’s not to like about a Pizza Port in a beautiful beach town?

The pizza was good and the service was outstanding. The beer selection was diverse and the bartender knew her beer. The atmosphere was that of a restaurant and was appropriate for all age groups. The experience I had was worth the drive from Long Beach.

I was expecting more of a beer selection. The pizza is good but nothing special. It was nice to watch the sunset from the 2nd floor balcony.

Stopped by in the afternoon after Stone Sourfest with angrypirate06 and bu11zeye. Parked next door in front of an out of business bridal shop. Laid back ocean restaurant atmosphere. Long bench tables. Long bar, plenty very good guest taps (Speedway and Pure Hoppiness among them). 11 House beers. Several were very good. The two pizzas we split were awesome. Not too much below the Carlsbad location (in terms of beer quality), plus it is a LOT closer! Will be back by there again.

Really nice building, 2 bars, 2 stories, and a roof. Also balcony bars. Decent PP brews and some others. The pizza is always good, as it is pizza port. The building is better, but the beer and selection is better at Carlsbad (lucky me for living there). Defeinitly visit if you can.

While this is probably the one Pizza Port one can skip, this remains pretty much a must, so long as you pass by San Clemente. Just outside highway 5, it has the usual formidable pizza port menus with about ten of their own and another ten guest beers including top offerings from Ballast Point and other top regional breweries. Like with the other Pizza Port, the pizza is excellent with original varietals. Still, in terms of atmosphere, it just was not as fun being there than in Carlsbad or Solana.

What a nice location - arrived in San Clemente by train - and what a place to get off the train - as close to on a sunny beach as you can get with the huge blue Pacific Ocean behind it - only the tracks lay between us and the sunny beach. After indulging in the scenery we took a warm walk up the hill with a heavy suitcase, but what a treat and warm welcome that awaited us. A nice laid back place with the brewery and pizza ovens right there next to you, stone floors and wooden picknick tables as well as some bar seating makes up the place. The pizza was very good though I couldn’t eat it all. I had 12 - 7 brewed on site. The service was very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I have to come back.

The prettiest location of any of the Pizza Ports. The mission feel of the neighborhood works perfectly, and the building is in that style and gorgeous. I actually looked for parking on the roof for a split second before scolding myself a fool. The selection when I went was clutch, featuring Killer Dana, RR IPA, Ruination, and some varied others. They do the work that Solana does to keep their few taps high quality. The guy working the bar was a well-tanned tool, and inconvenienced me with his refusal to open a tab - wasted paper too.

I didn’t eat, so I cannot rate that part of the experience. Right in the heart of San Clemente and not far from the beach. The bar staff was knowledgeable and the beer was great. Samplers of Pizza Port and guest beers were a plenty. I would recommend this to anyone going through this area.

Smaller version of the Carlsbad location both in physical size and number of tap handles. Good draft selection of both their own Pizza Port/Port brewing/Lost Abbey beers as well as a good selection of guest beers, including many hard to find drafts. I think they run 16-20 handles most of the time. They rotate the selections every time they blow a keg keeping the selections fresh.
