I never know how to rate the "selection" of a brewery. They have a dozen or so beer on tap and you can buy some bottles. The selection was incredible when i was there. BA Speedway and Vietnamese Speedway. Yes, please. Staff was friendly and attentive. No place to sit and it’s a pretty small room with plenty of people in it. Well worth a stop.

AleSmith is another of several San Diego breweries that have a tasting area in the adjacent open space of the brewery itself. However, AleSmith outdoes places like Green Flash and Ballast Point by attending to the aesthetics of the tasting area. The bar is L-shaped with a few bourbon barrels strewn around the floor for tables. The layout is geometrically appealing and the colors and stainless steel contribute nicely to the aesthetics. There is a narrow bar that parallels the stack of bourbon barrels in the front, offering more surface area for sitting your beer. Flights are available to taste any or all of the beers on tap, of which there is an ample variety. The staff are very helpful, accommodating, friendly, and quite knowledgeable. Very charming for a brewery tasting room. And, of course, the beers are magnificent. The Vietnamese Coffee Speedway--dear Lord!

Great local place to hang out with good beers on tap. it is very nice after they remodel it.

The Alesmith brewery is a nice and cozy place, I enjoyed the speedway stout and the Ipa both very good. I also had the chance to find special dog’s beer cookies! I think is a very smart way to use the parts of the malt you are suppose to trash after brewing! A must among the san diego breweries!

Stopped in to sample some brews when picking up special release bottles. I really like this place; super friendly servers, lots of cool Alesmith offerings on tap, nice areas to stand and chat. Nice recently updated decor and bar.

Great selection of regular and special AS beers. Brewery in an industrial section near Miramar Air Station but worth it for the beer.

A nice quality taproom with some nice beers on tap, bottles for sales and some swag. Pretty cool place.

Another brewery located in an industrial park. Easy to park. Small tasting room inside. All of their regular lineup on draft and some seasonals. All the beers are fresh and tasty. Prices are reasonable for bottles, growlers and they have mini growlers which are a great idea. Service is standard, overall just an ok place to visit.

Was here 2006 and 2011 and brewery has not changed much. Beers are outstanding, like their barrel aged ones a lot, service is ok.

I’ve been here maybe half a dozen times, the first time being the 2007 BA Decadence release and the most recent being last Saturday to get my BA Speedways.

Not much has changed over the years other than they’ve moved next door and made a prettier bar/tasting area. It always seems to be pretty busy on Saturdays but getting a beer is never difficult. Nice people, nice atmosphere, great beer.

They offer 1L growlers now which is nice but since I get down there so infrequently Ive never bought one.
