| Serendipitiai (10), California | | March 10, 2012 I love their pizza! Beer selection is okay. Great atmosphere with rustic wood communal tables and an interesting oversized wall mural. | | SamGamgee (182), down the whirlpool, California | | February 13, 2012 One of the top spots in SD. The beer selection is awesome, but the ambiance makes it. Lee Chase is also crafting some genius beers in the back under the Automatic label. This is one of the places that you’ll tell your kids that you drank beer at when you were younger. | | badlizard (109), San Diego, California | | December 26, 2011 I like this place. Good selection of beers, comfortable ambiance, service is friendly and helpful despite being constantly busy. Great pizzas. Overall a great spot. | | daknole (204), Scottsdale, Arizona | | November 6, 2011 What a cool place! Nice tap list. Great mussels and pizza. Very fun place. | | JohnnyJ (94), San Diego, California | | May 7, 2011 Nice interior, kind of hipster though. Friendly staff. The beer selection is good, but not great, mostly easily available locals. A good place to hang out and enjoy a good beer. Like everyone else has said, the parking situation here is terrible. | | danielcurtis81 (16), San Diego, California | | February 18, 2011 BLAH is a great place especially now that they have expanded their seating. They have some real good food. The salads are really good and the pizza offers some thinner crust gourmet options. Really tasty crust. The beer selection is always solid or better. They have honest pours and clean and proper glasses. Friendly staff. Automatic Brewing is run out of there with Lee Chase formerly of Stone. They don’t often put out brews but when they do they are pretty tasty. Hopefully they do more and more but it is not their first priority. | | jonno (92), , Japan | | December 28, 2010 Not bad but had a little bit of a prentioutious vibe to it after Hamiltons and Toronado. Good Pizza and decent selection. Lots of kids running around with lots of upwardly mobile parents. Big open space. | | Sledutah (151), Utah | | December 4, 2010 First off, no parking anywhere. Drove around the block a few times and finally found one. A nice open area inside with plenty of seating and tables. No chairs at the bar! I stand in line to order beer and food. The young lady behind the cash register tells me they only have 1 of their beers on tap and it’s a Hefeweizen (don’t see one listed). I think it was the Automatic (Belgian Ale) that has good ratings, wish I would have ordered it. They have a nice guest tap list of mostly local beers. Had a pizza, it was either pretty tasty or I was very hungry. They have a nice display of old beer cans from beers past. Overall, not a bad place but I probably won’t go back. | | mrmartin (22), Oakland, California | | October 26, 2010 So i will need to re-review this place in the future. I went on a monday night which normally i guess they are closed. They were open but not serving food.
I think it was some sort of art opening.
The space is awesome. The beer selection didn’t tickle my fancy but was more than adequate (15 mostly san diego specialties.)
Food is supposedly amazing but they weren’t serving that night.
staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable.
This is more of a restaurant then just a beer spot. | | doubleo (18), San Diego, California | | October 6, 2010 First off, there are two things I really hate about this place. They open at 5pm. I mean really 5pm? Come on, 2 or 3 or something. Second, there is no parking and I mean zero. Maybe 3 spots within a block that you have a chance in hell of getting. The positives, the beer selection is solid. Ambiance is very nice, but no TV. Haven’t had the pizza but the salad’s good. Service was hipster. |
