Stopped in during my week long family vacation to San Diego. I hit this place, as it seemed to be the closest to the hotel (Hilton on Mission Bay) and I only had a few minutes. This is a very small deli, wine and beer store. It was easy to find, and nicely organized. There was not a huge selection, but it did the trick for my need for a few beers to drink at the end of the day in the hotel. Most everything you would want was in a bomber, or singled out. Help was friendly, and I didn’t really ask too many questions. Not a classic institution, but quick and convenient. As a side note, I did not order from the deli, but it smelled really good.

One of the managers is a beer guy, so there is always a good mix of locals and seasonals and they do change their inventory regularly. Decent mix of singles, which is always nice. Only complaint is that it isn’t that big, so the overall selection is kind of small. They have a deli, which I haven’t tried yet. Local and convenient.

They do sell singles, which is nice, but the selection is not so great that you cannot get the stuff somewhere else. I didn’t try the sandwiches. If I were in the area and want a sandwich, it would be my first choice.

For a sandwich place, this isn’t bad. Most beers are sold in singles and they have a decent selection. Grab a sandwich and head over to Robb Field or the beach to eat. Singles are fairly priced. Liquor as well.
