| ghawener (53), San Salvador, El Salvador | | January 9, 2011 Restaurant with a large bar area, for a Brewpub it carries too few options, only Gordon Biersch beers and less than 10 alternatives. Food is pretentious. | | drpimento (120), La Crosse, Wisconsin | | October 22, 2010 I was very pleasantly surprised at my visit here yesterday! I’d had other experiences with this change that were all average at best and so I was predisposed in that direction. Indeed at first it seemed as thought that was the case again. The spiral ductwork, high quasi-industrial ceilings, stainless steel brewery out on display, large spaces. We had a table in one of the several dining areas with ours being across an aisle from the kitchen so we could watch the cooking and enjoy the aromas. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable, & helpful. Floor was carpeted, tables were nicely done in wood. There were several TVs on tuned to sports but not too loud. Nice background buzz. Good vibe. The two beers that I had: the Oktoberfest and the Schwartzbier were outstanding. They also had a full service bar and a heated patio. I will be looking forward to returning here someday when the opportunity arises. Great place! | | JohnnyJ (94), San Diego, California | | October 17, 2010 Chain brewpub, like BJ’s or Karl Strauss. Clean, lots of wood, and "fancy". The beer is mediocre, but the service was pretty good. I did not eat anything. | | ebmalon (22), Georgia | | March 28, 2010 Ugh, corpo at it’s worst. | | Phischy (57), California | | March 11, 2010 Beer here is nothing exceptional but people seem to love it. Full bar and a ’high end’ brewpub. Even for the style I’m not stoked on their beers and only go if forced for a happy hour.
Lots of yuppies who think they’re drinking fantastic beer, but it’s a chain and is big. But what a waste of brew hardware.... | | WeeHeavySD (111), San Diego (Hillcrest), California | | November 25, 2009 Blah, Gordon Biersch a chain brewpub, I went here once when I first moved to town and since I’ve basically ignored it as it should be ignored. | | jeremytoni (110), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | November 20, 2008 Visited on a Tuesday, and the place was packed. Sat at a back table and had a quick beer and sandwich. Beer and food selection was very good with quick service. | | josarah (77), Hinesburg, Vermont | | June 10, 2008 Nice place in a great location. Food was good, but nothing special. Service was very good, beers were good. | | StefanSD (41), Lakeside, California | | February 1, 2008 [ Updated July 27, 2008 ] This is a nice upscale brewpub/restaurant. They always have about a half dozen or so fresh brewed beers plus one or two seasonal brews. The food menu changes frequently, I have visited this place about twice a year for the past 6 years running and I have never looked at the same menu twice. That aside, the food is always very good and that is the real appeal of this place. Of beers I have sampled here the Hefe is very good and authentic, the marzen is mediocre and the alt-bier is exceptional. | | Snojerk321 (53), San Diego, California | | December 8, 2007 Food is good, a little pricey. Really big place but always seems crowded. Always get great service when I’m there. |
