| sax (10), California | | June 13, 2011 Probably your best option for good beer in downtown SF area. Having a good beer and oysters at the bar in the afternoon is perfect. Real expensive. | | nbutler11 (226), Phoenix, Arizona | | November 14, 2010 Quality spot. They somehow manage to combine a wharf motif with modern stainless accents to create a comfortable place to enjoy a plate of oysters with yur beer. Respectable set of taps, but nothing particularly unique when I was there. The service may be nice to look at, but they’re far from efficient or knowledagble about their beers. Oh, and it’s expensive -- know that. | | nickd717 (80), San Francisco, California | | July 24, 2010 Wow, this place really took me by surprise. I went here to tick off their bacon-wrapped oysters on the Top 100 things to eat in San Francisco list. Little did I know that this was one hell of a beer restaurant! When we walked in the door, the hostess told us, "Here’s the food menu, here’s the wine list, and here’s the beer list." I did a double-take. What, a nice restaurant actually gets it for once? Unbelievable. The list is long and diverse. Nothing too rare or special, but just good beers from a broad range of styles and places of origin. Sure it’s expensive, but the quality of the food and beer makes it worth it if you’re willing to splurge a little. The atmosphere is excellent, really high class yet comforting, and the service is very good. I’ll be back! | royalgrapes (1), California does not count - explanation | | December 19, 2009 Awesome venue in San Francisco. Of all the beer spots in the city, this one is the best because the food and service are both fantastic. Great beer selection and cask is also available. Happy hour is one of my favorites in the Financial District. |
