| BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | May 13, 2012 Kind of a punk rock dive bar in San Francisco, but a lot of fun and a huge tap line up. Prices are fair. Large outdoor area, and even 2 pinball machines! | | OldGrowth (132), North Carolina | | May 2, 2012 As others have said, place is a dive bar, lots of space, for San Francisco, then you get outside, wow, very large outdoor area. Took a couple minutes to get bartenders attention, but it was somewhat busy. decent tap list, didn’t check out bottles. Didn’t have food. pool table a games in the back area of bar. Not a family place and we did feel a tad out of place, no one was hostile or anything, but it was mostly a crowd younger us, I’m mid 40’s, it was like someone else said, bike messenger younger crowd, was loud music both in and out, in the metal varietal. The outdoor area is right buy an overpass so might explain loud music. On a nice weather day, be good place to hang. Not a family place. | | bmerz (61), New York | | March 26, 2012 This is an awesome dive bar with a huge outdoor area for a serious session. No need to be snobby but if you are there’s no need to worry. They have something you will like to drink a lot of. | | Frank (50), Chicago, Illinois | | March 22, 2012 This place has a nice tap list and a huge beer garden. I didn’t notice anything terribly rare or exciting from a beer perspective but, most definitely, if you are happy to drink a primarily local list of great beer in a very cool beer garden, you’ll like it here. | | GT2 (196), Washington DC | | February 17, 2012 Pretty awesome dive bar in SF that is very similar to my Chapel Hill favorite: He’s Not Here. A big dive bar with large amounts of outdoor pic-nic table seating. Taplist was fairly large and was in chalk (good thing) signifying quick keg rotation. RR Supplication pours were $8. Local, dank IPAs were $5-6. Service was incredible considering how wildly packed the place was- I loitered around in an area where a typical hoity toity bar would never give me service and magically we got everyone’s order in. Correct glassware, fresh kegs, local heavy selection. Now I know why this is the favorite bar amongst my UNC friends in SF. If you get tired of the snotty bartenders at Toronado, well here you go. Similarly impressive taplist. | | aj1451 (12), Vancouver, British Columbia | | February 10, 2012 Ok, you don’t go here if you want perky waitresses that will faun all over you. This is a bar and has great beer at a good price. I was here in November 2011. I had a wonderful afternoon. The doorman was surly, as were the bartenders, but they were also pleasant. They have bike parking in the beer garden. Another great aspect of this place is the beer garden and inside/outside food counter. Standard bar food, cheap. The pool table is level and in good shape.
Metal on the speakers at 3pm on a Friday, and a electric fireplace in the middle of the room near the door and the bar. It is worth a visit. | | 50belair (41), Florida | | November 15, 2011 A super cool dive/beer bar that is perfect for a weekend afternoon drunk. Huge outdoor area, good music, and a good beer selection. A must on a sunny day. | | Boliv (35), New York | | May 28, 2011 Visited during a recent trip to SF, and a place I never would have found if I hadn’t been hanging out with a few friendly locals willing to show me some good drinking spots. It was fairly dark, dank, and busy on a Thursday night, but the selection was pretty good and the service was fast. The outdoor patio was great, it’s a nice atmosphere to hang out, drink, and watch people. A great local spot. | | asedzie (12), San Francisco, California | | August 2, 2010 My favorite beer bar in the city. Always a few really good micros and local seasonals on tap, but pitchers are cheap and the company is good. Sierra Nevada and a couple of the other local micros test out new taps here, making the selection even more interesting. Last time I was here there was a Sierra Nevada impy stout, two months prior to the Anniversary bottle release of the same beer. Bartenders are wicked skillful pulling multiple taps at a time and mixing up complex drinks in between. The courtyard with its communal tables is usually packed with boisterous, gregarious revelers. An unforgettable SF mission experience almost every visit. | Tleblanc87 (2), New York does not count - explanation | | June 10, 2010 I will probably update this review, I have only been there once so far, so I had a limited experience. I didn’t try their food but they had great looking burgers, from what I saw, that are cheaper than anywhere else I have seen in SF. There was also a woman outside in the patio area selling fresh Tamales (awesome). Theres a few porta-johns outside which really make it much easier instead of having to go inside and wait on a line.
Overall a great place to hang out and drink outside. |
