| Rockcrawler (14), Santa Fe, New Mexico | | August 1, 2010 Another NM oldschool dusty liquor store. A large selection of brew including an oddball selection of random European beers. A very broad selection just not very refined. A large amount of the beer is left out warm on the shelf. Prices aren’t the best but the staff is friendly and willing to help. | | notalush (256), Denver, Colorado | | April 3, 2010 This is one of those rare finds of a store that reminds me very much of Supersaver in New Jersey - a large, filthy, scaring-looking store that, if it were not listed on the site, I probably would have avoided like the plague - I was here close to closing time, so I didn’t get to look at as much as I wanted, but this is one of those places that has a huge selection, but you are unsure of how long they have been sitting on the shelves - I saw beers here from european breweries I had never heard of, imported by companies that may not even exist anymore - it looked like they had pretty much everything available in the state - prices were all over the place, some reasonable, some not - I didn’t have long to choose, so I grabbed two French beers I had never heard of that may or may not have been a dozen or so years old, and was on my merry way - the biggest selection I saw in town. | doomfistinc (2), New Mexico does not count - explanation | | January 9, 2010 My regular store. The staff are friendly and willing to help if you can’t find something. Seasonals and some rarer beers than you’d expect.
As most people say, a bit dusty and quite a bit of Bud advertisement, but that hardly counteracts the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the selection.
Quality store. | | wavers1 (39), Notown, California | | May 23, 2009 [ Updated August 13, 2009 ] re-rate: store has been somewhat overhauled, it’s a lot nicer now with a better selection. do be sure to check price tags as some bottles would have different prices for no reason. they have a great selection for such a quirky place. i found all 3 santa fe big beers, several brew dog selections, cuvee rene, and several more bottles i couldn’t find in the bay area. the staff doesn’t know a whole lot about beer, but seem to absorb things and want to improve, as they have over the past 2 years. when i told the owner that he had overcharged me for a bottle 3 days earlier(lower price 3 days later) he compensated me with a free bottle of the same beer without hesitation. the prices are average, some low, some high, but overall a good deal. | | m00ba77 (10), Santa Fe, New Mexico | | March 27, 2009 Selection is good. Dusty store but full of good beers. The staff is friendly and helpful, but only a couple of the guys actually know their stuff. Wide selection of Stone, Avery, Rogue, Lost Coast, Mad River, Odell and other CA/NM/CO breweries. I make a trip here about once a week to pick up stuff I cant get on the north side of town. | | fly (203), austin, Tejas, Alabama | | July 25, 2005 Nice that bit by bit more beers seem to be reaching other markets. Was in here years ago and there’s been an improvement, but not by leaps and bounds. | | Terminus (233), Las Cruces, New Mexico | | October 27, 2004 Probably the best beer store in Santa Fe. Unfortunately, most all of the beer that i was interested in was old stock (lost coast bombers, which are dated bottles). They do carry stone, lost coast, avery, rogue and has a good selection of imports. The store was pretty dirty and the staff did not know much about what i was looking for (Stone RIS). | | 3fourths (962), Boulder, Colorado | | October 17, 2004 A typical big-box liquor store with too many ads and stickers and banners on the outside. Two beer sections, one up front with singles, bombers, 1/2 magnums, where a lot of micro and belgians are, and then the back cooler wall with a ton of 6 packs. Rogue, New Belgium, Santa Fe, Avery, and a slew of other local CO/NM micros... they hesitated at breaking 6 packs for me, but OKd it as long as I broke 6ers from the same brewery (so, 2 of this, 2 of that, and 2 of this, all 6 from the same brewery). The guys even helped me carry the boxes to the truck, a nice gesture after dropping close to $200 at their store. I think they liked me :) |
