Despite its name this store offers a decent range of craft beers but surprisingly little from San Diego. So close yet so far. The range is a little eclectic and to be honest not a lot in the DIPA or stronger area. But it was a useful stopover point en route to mexico, knowing that we needed to take supplies if the vacation was to be a good one. The $1 bus fare there and back from Main St made it accessible to tourists like us.

Wine store with fridged beer in the back. Some oddities here and there in larger format singles. Nothing caught my eye though. Prices were okay, maybe $1-2 higher than Iíd like. Staff was helpful and they hold weekly beer and wine tastings. Nice wine tasting room off to the side.

Visited July 27, 2013.

As has been mentioned, this place focuses on wine primarily however, in the back are a couple of coolers full of beer. Some of the prices were reasonable like the Sierra Nevada Narwhal for $9.99. We also spotted a Lithuanian beer in the fridge, some random ciders, and a few other interesting selections. If he had more beer Iíd be interested in coming back given how eclectic the selection is.

Next door (through the curtain next to the register) is a wine tasting area. On Tuesdays they do beer tastings. $15 + tax/tip for 15 samples from the bottles in the store. The store chooses the bottles. For the die hard tickers there likely wont be anything new for you but if you are just getting into beer it could be a fun way to try some things.

Certainly a wine-first store, but a number of cooler doors at the back of the store. Pretty standard selection with a few more interesting/less often seen imports. Prices were maybe a bit higher than average. Service was at least friendly. They do weekly beer tastings (as well as wine tastings).

Good selection of Belgian singles. Definitely a wine store, but they seem to take their beer seriously as well. Now that I think about it, I donít remember seeing any macros. Iíll be back. Re-rate: I went back, and the guy working the counter led me into the storage room where he uncovered a case of HOTD Adam that just came in. Time to revise my service rating.

Went in there today after hearing about it on the other site. Its a big, high quality wine store that also has a decent beer and liquor selection. Beer was pretty decent, lots of Belgians, some French, and a few locals. Picked up a bottle of Stone 10 (which is pretty hard to find on the shelves currently). The real good thing about this store, for the LA Area, is that they have a couple craft ciders/perrys that I havenít tried before. I picked up Bordelet Sidre Brut TENDRE, as well as Manoir du Parc Authentic Poire. They also have a Mead I havenít had before (Warenghem Chouchen). They also have a killer Sake selection (but I have already had every style on the site, and was trying to keep the bill low). Prices are a bit on the high side of things.
