| solidfunk (39), Ontario | | December 12, 2011 This Jumbo has a huge selection of beer. There are a decent amount of German and Belgian beers, with some fairly average and a few top notch ones like tripel karmeliet and St. Bernardus. Some Biere de garde from France and a ton of local Chilean microbrews. Saw some Brew Dog but it was fairly pricey compared to the rest. Stress the ’micro’ on that, as I found some there that weren’t even listed on the site here. Most chilean beers cost around 2 dollars and the Belgians went for about three. | | RC8 (18), Toronto, Ontario | | January 9, 2010 For Chilean standards, probably as good as you’ll find in terms of beer stores... for now! | | austinpowers (152), New York, New York | | April 14, 2008 Huge grocery store - plenty of local micros. A must, IMHO. | Contrucci (9), , Chile does not count - explanation | | February 15, 2008 [ Updated February 16, 2008 ] They have sometimes a stand promoting chilean microbreweries beer with free samples and some advice. Good. | | Panzerfaust (16), Hanga Roa, Easter Island, Chile | | April 28, 2006 [ Updated December 15, 2006 ] This is a big supermarket with a huge and great selection of beers (for chilean standards at least). This and the other locals of this chain are arguably the cheapest places to buy imported beers in Santiago. They have all chilean macros and some good micros (Colonos, Capital, Austral specialities). They have also a lot of imported beers from Belgium (Trappists included), Germany (pilseners, lagers, weizens), Holland, Czech Republic, England, Canada (Unibroue), Mexican macros, Argentinian macros, etc. in all sizes.
The beer section is at the end of the hallway after the 50-60 meters of Chilean wine shelves. |
