| DiarmaidBHK (307), Pennsylvania | | October 24, 2011 If this were boxing this place would be the pound for pound champion. While they may only have 300+ beers much of what they have is of great quality. There’s probably more Mikeller here then in the entire state of Arizona. They also have nogne 0, ale smith, old dubh, jolly pumpkin among others. The prices are not cheap but they have a lot of stuff here you won’t find in many other places. | Adamwojo (1), does not count - explanation | | April 19, 2011 Great beer selection! Walt, the cellar master, is extremely knowledgable and will get his hands on reserve series. | | dionysus (10), Arizona | | January 9, 2011 [ Updated February 2, 2012 ] My domain! 350+ Beers from some of the best breweries around the country and world. If it’s in AZ, chances are that I have it. Feel free to call any time between 10-8 for inquiries. This year we are going to be getting in gear and holding more free tastings for the public as well as some exlcusive releases.
EDIT: WAS my domain. I recently made a stop back by just out of sheer curiosity. The selection size is still there, but the quality has suffered slightly since my departure. Still quite a bit to choose from, just don’t expect to find a diamond in the rough. | | dcschiller (42), Scottsdale, Arizona | | September 20, 2010 [ Updated January 26, 2012 ] Update: This place has fallen off since Walter left. They hired a ’wine guy’ instead and the beer selection is now average. Not worth the trip unless you are in the area. | | bigrond (39), factoryville, Pennsylvania | | May 9, 2010 This place is essentially a high end grocery store. It does have a decent selection of large and small single bottles with a 50-50 split between macro and micro brews. Worth a look. | | Tmoney99 (332), Cincinnati, Ohio | | March 27, 2010 Easy to find location with strip mall parking in the front. Medium size healthy food market format with coffee, olive bar and specialty foods. Beer section on the far right with a good selection of westcoast beers. I got two. One to drink and one to take home. Freindly staff, but you do need to know what beers you want. Enjoyed the stop. | | KUEric (106), Washington, Washington DC | | February 17, 2010 [ Updated December 27, 2010 ] Can’t beleive it took me this long to get up here. It’s just a couple miles from my moms place. I went there under the guise of getting some quality meats for a couple days worth of meals. But I saved the spirits section for last and at first I was bummed because the section wasn’t the full aisle. But then I realized it was deep, individualized and there are tons of beers here and they are almost all refridgerated.
Update: It is the fullaisleof singles and it is impressive!
I picked up some very quality beers here :alesmithe, lagunitas, deschuttes, Avery, bells, green flash, etc etc etc.
I was there random middle of the day on a Wednesday and saw inventory being taken, had a couple of folks ask if I needed help, one of which let me know what was new(a beer from Tibet). Awesome. | steebo777 (7), Michigan does not count - explanation | | January 29, 2010 Let me start by saying I did my homework on a place to hit to buy beer while on a business trip out here from the Detroit area. This AJ’s was rated highest, so I thought I would give it a shot, and boy am I glad I did. Jonpol (cellarmaster for this particular AJ’s) was outstanding. He walked right over to me, asked if I needed help, and I told him where i was form and what I was looking for. We then spent a solid hour or so talking about various beers, telling me his thoughts, and just having some solid conversation. All in all a great place to pick out beer with over 500 different beers, and all in the cooler to boot! And finally I happened to stumble in a day when all bombers were 10% off. Very highly recommended. | Pecan (4), does not count - explanation | | December 4, 2009 The best parts of this location: Selection and service. There are a great number of choices in beer. And there to help you find what you’re looking for is Jonpol, very helpful cellarmaster. | | daknole (204), Scottsdale, Arizona | | November 7, 2009 [ Updated August 17, 2010 ] Holy shit this place is beer heaven. Walter rocks. Hell yeah man. He is gung ho and eager as hell to talk beer. Great guy! |
