| Petronius (24), Seattle, Washington | | April 20, 2012 Very laid back; service is there. Food and beer are fine. Location is unfortunate. I like the atmosphere . | | adnielsen (277), Fort Collins, Colorado | | August 8, 2011 I had a typical sampler tray outside and found their brews solid. Cool little joint. The location did change from the previous Leary Way location to 11th and Ballard. | | mabel (211), Toronto, Ontario | | July 13, 2011 2010-07. Visited at the end of a long sunny Saturday afternoon last July, we stopped in for a couple of their own brews on tap. Beer selection is good with a lot of their own available, some on nitro; the two we tried were pretty solid though I quite liked the Black Porter on nitro. Staff was friendly; we did not try any food. The place is quite restauranty with fun, loud music, a well-thought out decor and layout, and a huge treasure painted on the entire floor space; it seemed to smell of lobster. Would return if nearby again. | | CampesinoTino (57), Seattle, Washington | | May 30, 2011 Solid little brewpub located in a slightly industrial block near the Ballard/Fremont border. Highlights from the sampler were the dry-hopped Islander, the DIPA and the Christmas Ale. The food is adequately hearty to absorb all the beer. | | CheersMate (132), Fremont (Seattle), Washington | | December 8, 2010 This place is decent. My brother and I visited on a Wednesday night, so I don’t feel that that is a fair way to judge just how busy a place can really get. We had no problem finding A.) Parking, and B.) a seat inside. As others have mentioned, it seems as though someone from the sky just took a shit, and wherever the turd randomly landed, that’s where the bar would be. It’s in what some call "Fremont", but I beg to differ. Anyways, this place smells like fish, big time! I didn’t mind that, but just be aware to draw in a big plume of fish aroma when you walk in, more so than other fish restaurants. It’s probably due to the overall size of this place, which isn’t substantial. Lots of wood. The bar space is decent. The service is fairly good. The drink prices are fucking awesome. The beers we had were pretty good as well. Overall, very solid. There are some drawbacks, but that’s everywhere. Selection: just Maritime stuff, as far as beer is concerned. | | mrhoppy (87), Santa Clara, California | | April 19, 2010 A little hole in the wall. Decent beer. Some food. | | SuzyGreenberg (32), Seattle, Washington | | May 21, 2009 The Taproom has a sizable bar and plenty of tables squeezed into a small space and a "deck area" for nicer weather; most maritime brews available and usually a cask as well; cool vibe in this place with mix of more blue collar folks compared to newer places in the area; love the little burgers and other eclectic food items; heard they were moving to a new one? | | kitschy (60), Nebraska | | February 16, 2009 Lovely place to visit, located between Ballard and Fremont. Super beers, great staff teamwork, food made with care. | | theisti (273), Leawood, Kansas | | January 13, 2009 [ Updated January 20, 2009 ] Visited Monday evening, January 12th. Location threw me off a bit, this is in a pretty industrial looking area, though close to Ballard. Really small place, with some Pirate themed decorations. Had a nice selection of their beers on, and all of the food looked really good. I had the tuna sliders, and was quite pleased. Based on the rave reviews, I also got an order of the onion rings and was not disappointed. I had a bit eof Tom’s steak and was really incredible. Super high quality cut of meat, excellently prepared. For a brewery, the food here is well above average. Service was pretty nonchalant, though not unfriendly. Worth a stop if you are a local or have a few days in Seattle | | Ibrew2or3 (248), Phoenix, Arizona | | October 15, 2008 Small place in almost nothing but industrial steel work, dock work type area of town. The place sports about six or seven tables and about eight to ten barstools. So a very small crowd can cram this place full. The beer list was seriously short on variety during my visit, figures with my luck. The help was much less than enthusiastic too. It didn’t feel that friendly. The beer was tasty and pretty much without flaws and I only tried the smoked onion rings for food. They were dynamite. The only problem with them was that I wanted to eat the two to three person serving size by myself. |
