Visited afternoon on Thursday June 25, 2015. Walked up from Gordon Biersch, up a hill so in the hot weather and sun I was ready for a beer or so. Didnít ask for a flight, instead only had two beers of smaller pour. Met another beer lover in there that was able to get flights of the beers, mainly since the staff wasnít very busy. Not a big place, still not that many visiting at the same time as me. Has a small brew setup in the back, you can see it when going to the restrooms. Not a bad place.

Straight forward pub environment serving the McMenamins beers. Just stopped for a quick pint...had something freshly hopped which was freshly rough going.

Decent atmosphere with OK beers but the main thing it has going for it is the location. Other than that, thereís no reason to go unless youíre dying to try McMenaminís beers.

Finally I got to this place. Terrific McMenamins feel and look. Great service and food. Had a nice list of brews and the beer was tasty. A must stop for McMenamins fanas and beer geeks.

When i go downtown to visit my tattoo friends, i NEVER fail to stop in for a beer or 2...service is fast with a Seattle screw you attitude (love it) and the freaking cook is the bomb...the servers may sound a little nasty but they are fast and efficient & always have a watchful eye on you...been going there for years & will always do a fly by when i am in the area...i have even taken my child there for snacks ;-)

Find a different place on Cap Hill, folks. Went on a Friday night and although slightly crowded, not enough so to justify the absolute rudeness of the staff. They slopped beer. They were irritated when asked for beers written on their availability menu, but apparently not actually available. They donít know their beers. But tater tots are $1 after 10 pm so thatís something, and if youíve already had some free gin and tonic the beers arenít too disappointing.

If youíre going to visit one McMenamins property in the Seattle area then this is the one. The most charming and eclectic of the 4 this is also the busiest, most bustling, and most difficult to find parking for. The decor is classic McMenamins with the odd bits here and there, a bit of storybook fantasy and reminiscent of a Smashing Pumpkinís video. The Hammerhead IPA and Terminator Stout are really the only two beers worth coming here for. The Ruby is a terrible mistake of a science project of a beer and itís popularity is probably onset by the invasion of the BMC guzzling crowd and the need for a profitable beer. The food is so-so/standard however the yam fries are worth every penny and the location within walking distance to downtown and the eclectic capitol hill neighborhood is superb.

I liked the decor here, with Indian paraphenelia, wood carvings, plumbing sculpture, various chandeliers...the bric a brac brings back childhood memories of our summer cottage. Service was friendly, but beer was mediocre. I wouldnt recommend the food. Took the happy hour burger (dry) with the ceasar salad (bland) and the cajun tots (way too salty). Avoid eating here, even during the cheap happy hour. Samples are around a dollar each, but again the beer is boring. Only if you are a few days in Seattle, not an essential.
