23 reviews for The Collins Pub
| BrewDad (239), Olympia, Washington | | October 1, 2009 I have seen news/events advertised from this pub for the last few years and had wanted to see this for myself. Parking can be tough so look for it or pay for it across the street like I did. I found the place to be a new/clean look with high ceilings and new local art on the walls with a tap list that rivals the best. Russian River, to local flair with Big Al Brewing, Trade Route Brewing and Snoqualmie Falls Brewing there where also ore around 25 taps of some killer brews. I was impressed the food was a tad higher priced pub food I am sure for the location not far from some of the big banks and buildings in Seattle plus you have the football and baseball crowds walking buy. This is a great place I am sure I will be back. The bartender knew there product and how to sell the beer. | | Feinschmecker (51), Seattle, Washington | | October 1, 2009 On of the few great stops around Pioneer Square. Awesome selection of seasonal beer from the West Coast. The usually have even something rare that the rest of the city might not get. The food is pretty good. I had the Tempura and the staff was really friendly. | | BigBang (13), Indiana | | June 19, 2009 Top notch experience here. Maybe I just enjoyed Pliny the Elder on tap too much, but had a great time there on my visit. Fish and chips were super and tap list, while not the biggest, was well selected and tasty. Staff was very knowledgeable and super nice. My friend and I were reminiscing the Beatles White Album and the bartender overheard and put on the entire album for us. So we had to listen to the whole thing and enjoy a few more Pliny’s... Kudos on a great pub. | | SuzyGreenberg (25), Seattle, Washington | | May 21, 2009 20 or so taps primarily local and regional; gets its fair share of special releases such as Pliny the Younger; tap list is always changing and they also host some themed events throughput the year; long bar w/ some street seating and 15 or so tables; besides the beer, Colin’s offers top notch dinners and side dishes; host the occasional brewery dinners from the likes of Stone and Lost Abbey; overall a top notch place with the only drawback of being way down the hill from my place | | ¾ (599), Colorado | | May 18, 2009 Downtown, so walkable from anywhere in the heart of Seattle. Beer selection demands a visit from any serious drinker. Visited during a supposed Boundary Bay cask night that turned out to be one cask of somewhat stale IPA. Regional and local selection were very good, food was above average and somewhat eclectic for a beer bar. Don’t have much else to say - typical tables on the patio, tables up front, then bar, then booths and dining tables. Dark in the back. Young crowd. | | Zeswaft (102), Seattle, Washington | | December 29, 2008 I really like this place. Cozy bar in Pioneer Square. Rotating art collection is always eclectic and provocative. Beer selection is all PNW beers and most that Ive never seen bottled. Food is good. | | darn1207 (24), Tallahassee, Florida | | September 15, 2008 We stopped here for a couple hours before a mariners game. Don’t remember all of the specifics now - but know I got a Russian River Pliney the Elder on tap and had a good bacon and crab cake sandwich. The service was very friendly and, though we sat outside, the bar area looked really nice. Cool place. | mnapier (7), Washington does not count - explanation | | March 11, 2008
A Pub that is run by a beer geek.
This is yet another gastro-pub in Seattle (in the key of Brouwer’s) with a kick ass food selection and a great selection of beers.
With a varying selection of bottled and draft ales, this place offers alot of surprises almost daily if not weekly. Try the clam chowder, or the cheese plate.
Another bonus is the number of hosted beer dinners per year that they put together. Such previous dinners included Silver City, New Belgium, Stone, and many others.
Well worth the visit.
Cheers | | theisti (114), Leawood, Kansas | | February 25, 2008 [ Updated May 15, 2009 ] Visited on Feb 11, 2008 with after4ever. Nice tap list, as well as bottle selection. A refreshingly updated web site got me prepared for the visit. Old, classic pub atmosphere with nice plasma TV’s throughout. The front bar features some comfortable wood booths, past bar appeared to have a bit more space to spread out. Overall, nice vibe and a great selection. Really wanted to try the food, but arrived after the kitchen had closed. Thanks for meeting me out Tom! | | Brigadier (79), Chagrin Falls, Ohio | | January 14, 2008 I stopped in here after a visit to Pike’s Market. It is about a ten minute walk. I didn’t get a chance to see the bottle list due to time constraints but the taps more than made up for it.
Along with one macro there was Hair of the Dog Fred, DFH Festina Peche, Georgetown 9 lb Porter and some other gems. It took a while to get service even with the place totally empty. Apparently paying customers should not show up until the lunch rush.
I’d recommend stopping by if you visit the market but don’t spend too much time here. There are a few better options in other parts of town more worthwhile. |
