Chuckaduck (2), California does not count - explanation | | January 27, 2012 Doesn’t look like a beer geek hideaway from the outside. But inside, there is some really interesting stuff. Parking isn’t bad for this reason. Pete (owner), Jeff (Geoff?), and Grant are all incredibly nice and well-versed when it comes to beer. They know their stuff and are happy to make recommendations or just to chat. The selection is more diverse than it is vast. But it is really quite diverse with SEVERAL bottles of things that don’t even hit shelves in the nearby area (Cuvee de Tomme, Deliverance, Bitches’ Brew, Victory at Sea, Utopias, Pliny, etc). They are wonderful folks who work hard to provide a service for the beer geeks among us. Check them out. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | July 1, 2010 Interesting place. Horrible looking exterior. Some parking. Good liquor store. Selection is interesting, a lot of stuff that does not sit of shelves any where else. Picked up some Parabola, Cuvee de Tomme and Budweiser Brewmasters Reserve (never seen this one before). They also apparently had some aged rarities in the back. Still had Utopias and Triple Bock. Its like they have a geek of a beer buyer, but no beer geeks visit this place. Kind of pricey. | | teamugly (17), SIMI VALLEY, California | | March 26, 2010 Great location, easy access & near 101 & 405 freeways. | | bu11zeye (113), Frisco (Dallas), Texas | | August 2, 2006 Better selection than your average liquor store and you may find a rare bottle or two. When I was there they still had Stone 05.05.05 and Pizza Port SPF 45. However, not a top choice in the LA area. | bnutz (1), does not count - explanation | | July 8, 2006 You’d never know it from the outside, but hands down, the best selection in the Valley. Staff knowledge is inconsistent, but a couple of the guys seem helpful and enthusiastic about good beer. | | BigBastard (16), L.A., California | | July 7, 2006 As stated, pretty much the best bottles in the valley. The staff doesn’t know too much, but they get in a great selection. They get lots of special and hard to find beers too. | | Odeed (15), Bakersfield , California | | December 13, 2005 [ Updated February 28, 2007 ] this place has the best selection of beer in the valley i have ever seen.micros include:alesmith, stone, moylans, lagunitas, pizza port, and more.plus loads of belgian brews.the prices are low as well...re-rate:just to let everyone know.they just got a new owner.this could be a bad or a good thing. |
