Excellent Dark Star pub serving three Dark Star ales (regulars & seasonal) and three guest ales as well as real cider and real lager. Very friendly locals and staff. Reasonably quiet on mid-week lunchtimes, but popular in the evenings and at weekends. Regular live music on Friday/Saturday evenings and often on Sunday afternoons too, with odd music events at other times (like ’Uke at the Duke’ on one Tuesday a month). Patio out back for those that like the fresh air. Ales are very well kept and change frequently so plenty of choice. Crisps & nuts available although not cooked food, but this is available from the cafe nextdoor and they even let you eat it in the pub.
