| Immy (107), Virginia Beach, Virginia | | April 12, 2012 I grew up around the corner from this place, and visited on Easter Sunday. Wait... beer for sale? On a Sunday? IN PA?!? Anyway, stunning selection, great staff, a tad pricey. Simply a must see if within 50 miles, | | Spookgolds (11), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | December 3, 2011 First visit here last night with stangger. I was completely overwhelmed as soon as we walked in the door. We proceeded to the bar in the back which had 20 or so taps, got something to drink while we shopped. This is an awesome store. You won’t need to go anywhere else. | | kennydiaz (23), staten island, New York | | October 4, 2011 [ Updated January 28, 2012 ] It is on the small side but the selection is very well organized and second to known. They have a small bar in the back with a few taps. A little on the pricey side but this is one stop shopping. Full selection of Port, Lost abbey, Russian river, Hopping frog, Bells, and Belgium’s. Wow I love this place but the negatives are they are a little pricey. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help and suggest different beers. | krisagon (4), does not count - explanation | | August 28, 2011 Will and Darren are awesome, their customer service is great, they don’t put the hard sell on you to buy anything. We stop in here before holidays and road trips. My only complaint is that they have so much good beer that I walk out with too much beer.
Plus being able to drink a pint while perusing more beer to take home is a dream come true! | | DeputyAndy (15), Ambler, Pennsylvania | | August 5, 2011 I’ve been here a few times over the past year. The selection is hard to top for the Philadelphia suburb area. Prices are high for some breweries but a steal for others so it evens out. The staff could not be more helpful. They are always offering advice, samples, or showing you new acquisitions for the shop. There are a few taps for tasting but selection is limited. They do serve food but i’ve never had any. all in all my go to stop for the rare, elite beers in the Philly suburbs. | | MikeMoriendi (50), Boynton Beach, | | April 15, 2011 My cousin took me here on my trip to PA. The guys working in there really knew their stuff and were extremely nice. Huge selection and the prices were pretty dead on. The 6 taps at the little bar in the back is a nice touch. You can have a pint or two or get a growler to take home. I wish this place was in Florida. | adrian910ss (7), philadelphia, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | January 30, 2011 [ Updated August 20, 2011 ] Nice bottle shop with a huge selection. Only gripe is that some of the beers in the coolers are not of the freshest variety. | | Capa (172), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | December 5, 2010 Has a nice classy feel to it as you enter with walls lined floor to ceiling with bottles of beer. Many bombers and six packs displayed for your viewing pleasure. The 12 ounce bottles are mostly packed in the coolers. I was slightly disappointed with their single bottle selection as they had many sixers of stuff I wanted but would only want one or two of. Still, loads of selection! I wanted to have a pint at the back of the place but was in a rush. The lineup looked real nice though. Growlers are available and was told they’ll fill any you bring ’em. The guy behind the register was real friendly and extremely knowledgable. If I lived a bit closer I’d be here all the time. | Chroma914 (1), does not count - explanation | | November 30, 2010 Darren and the staff at the Beer Store are setting the example in the Bucks County area for great service, great beer, and most importantly, an excellent selection. I’ve been to the Beer Store 4 or 5 times now, and I’ve walked away more than impressed each time. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and like another review stated, are very open to suggestions from their customers. I can’t state enough how Darren and his staff went above and beyond with their customer service to me and my 2 beer buddies. As for the beer, it is the best selection in the area. You’ll find your local micros, national micros, belgians, and a small macro selection. Prices are reasonable on most items, but expect to pay a little bit more for the more rare and limited edition bottles in the store. You can’t knock the prices for the limited edition stuff - you’re paying for something that isn’t easy or cheap for the store to get. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to buy great, quality beer in the area, and I look forward to many return visits. | Jason_andrew (5), does not count - explanation | | November 29, 2010 This place is pretty awesome. 1500 beers, mostly single bottles to choose from. There were a few things I would loved to have seen that weren’t there but, are hard to find anywhere. Also, I would love to see some vintage items on the shelves but, considering its a new establishment I can’t hold it against them. The staff is knowledgeable for the most part. However, while their grasp of the bigger name micros is solid, they don’t yet seem to know much about many of the gems sitting in the store (Like products from The Bruery, Twelve Percent Imports, etc). My Biggest complaint is they’re beers are priced on the high end and some are way over priced. However, when I pointed out a price discrepancy to the owner he assured me that they were still working out pricing and that he appreciated my feedback so he could look into adjusting prices properly. Overall, The Beer Store has an amazing selection and is worth the trip. While some things may be a buck or two more than they should be, it’s worth it to support a smaller retail shop that offers a vast selection and who’s offerings are not restrained by a corporation. |
