| DuffMan (185), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | | August 27, 2011 Similar layout to Whole Foods or Trader Joes, but with local flair and focus. Most WFs I’ve been in have better selection but are more expensive. On the other hand, most TJs I’ve been in have a smaller selection but better pricing. The nice thing about Huckleberry’s in particular is that they focus on regional (Washington, Oregon, Idaho) craft beers and I found a few here that I saw nowhere else. Certainly worth stopping in as you are bound to find at least a few local rarities, but not a huge selection really. | | curly (114), Seattle (Newcastle), Washington | | March 27, 2011 [ Updated November 2, 2011 ] Nice selection of single 12oz’ers and bombers. Not as extensive with Belgian’s. The thing I like about this place is the fact that the beer is refrigerated and they don’t have tone of cases of IPA laying around on the floor like JB’s does. Service was good as far as eagerness to help, however, the lady working in the beer section did not know much about beer. Been here several more times now. They sometimes have some insane beers such as Red Poppy, Parabola and other higher end FW beers..... The more I come here the more I am amazed with some of the gems, recently Abacus, Older Viscosity and De Proef Witte Noire, all at prices that were very reasonable. | | 3fourths (962), Boulder, Colorado | | February 16, 2011 i think i was more impressed by the massive hill i had to drive up from I-95 than the actual store, but the beer selection was actually quite impressive after so many disappointments across montana and idaho. i walked out with a case of unrated singles. and they’re open until 10pm. kick ass. | | Sledutah (151), Utah | | December 31, 2009 A large selection of singles. Mostly 12oz bottles but they have a few bombers. | | auderale (58), Bitburg, Germany | | December 18, 2007 Huckleberry’s had a great selection and the prices were really reasonable. Best selection I’ve found so far in Spokane. They also had a small assortment of trappist and the prices were pretty decent. | | pdxmickey (15), Spokane, Washington | | October 7, 2007 Huckleberry’s has a nice selection of beers that you can easily buy in individual bottles. The selection is from more common brewers in the area and the breweries offered do not change a lot. The staff is not overly knowledgeable about the beers and you have to walk all the way through the crazy "organic everything" portion of the store to get to the bear. It is worth a stop into Huckleberries to see what you have not had a chance to try. | tobizag (4), Federal Way, Washington does not count - explanation | | August 9, 2006 Huckleberry’s is great for ALMOST all I could ask for. The thing about Huckleberry’s is you have to get past the snooty organic people who shop there, and the selection of AMAZING beers is nothing compared to Jim’s. However, they do carry a more varied selection, and there is more product. It’s just that the product is not as elite as Jim’s. | | BückDich (215), McCall, Idaho | | May 3, 2006 Just a quick jaunt up Monroe from the Steam plant grill. Small specialty market, fairly busy with that distinct whole foods smell inside. Nice singles selection of beer, lots of regionals and imports. I wouldn’t mind having to live here and pick from this selection. Good price on some things, some weren’t so good. Clean, well stocked and well labeled. That’s about all I could ask for. | | wulfhere (14), Billings, Montana | | October 10, 2005 Huckelberry’s is an Organic Food Market, so there is a reasonable amount of decent food, but you really don’t eat there. They have a 20’ long cooler stocked with beers, mostly regional/Left Coast stuff. If you’re looking for the standard fare you’ll find in most supermarkets, but more of it, Huckleberry’s is fine. If you’re looking for extraordinary beers, albeit a much smaller selection, then try Jim’s Home Brew. | | billk (42), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho | | March 5, 2005 [ Updated February 24, 2007 ] This place is probably the best bottle shop in Spokane. Another is Jim’s at 2619 N. Division but selection there isn’t as good and can be rather expensive with single bottle sales only.
Fair to decent selection of micros and imports, and they are unbelievably receptive to trying to obtain ANYTHING you want to try if they can order it. Update 5/20/05 Was there yesterday and the gal who takes care of the beer section had no idea what Saison was.....this is not good. |
