| edirvin2814 (10), , | | May 22, 2012 Their wheat beer tasted like one of my old extract home brews, not sure if that is good for me or bad for them. | | GJF (39), Cedar Rapids, Iowa | | February 2, 2012 One of those brewpubs that disappoints me. A beautiful old building in downtown saint augustine. Nice iron metalwork outside, gorgeous wood inside, but frankly there’s nothing much to it, other than a nice view of the bay from the upper decks. We had a few mediocre beers and left rather than eat. | | Msumax1985 (13), Florida | | November 27, 2011 Decent place with excellent view, decent beers on tap. I’m not usually a fan of the chain brewers, but this one has pretty good beer with very good setting. | | TheRealMGD (54), Lakewood, Washington | | September 12, 2011 Stopped in for lunch and a pint near the end of April, very pleased to find a brewpub in St. Augustine. Decent selection and the house beers seem to be quite good. Food is standard pub fare, maybe a bit better. Service was very friendly, but don’t expect much beer knowledge if you’re not dealing with a brewer. Prices are decent and ambience is just OK. Nice place, but not exactly a hot spot for beer lovers in Florida - unless you’re stuck in St. A. | | beernovice39 (146), South Carolina | | August 11, 2011 Corner brewpub. Sample trays with only 1 overlap with Ragtime. Great service. | fireteacher (5), Georgia does not count - explanation | | June 4, 2011 We’ve been going here since for about 15 years, and pretty much completely for the ambience of the upstairs veranda. Beer selection is okay, they do produce a good summer wheat and a decent stout, along with a few other middling brews. The food is good, heavy on the seafood side, mostly variations on Floribbean standards, and is on the costly side. Service is uneven, ranging from pretty bad to excellent, with no discernible pattern. | | changeup45 (78), Mount Dora, Florida | | October 10, 2010 [ Updated October 31, 2010 ] Located right in the center of downtown St. Augustine, and only a few buildings down from JP Henley’s (which I recommend visiting as well). The first floor is a bar area and on the second floor there is a large restaurant area with some nice balcony seating. Pretty standard beer lineup; Amber, Pale, Stout, Brown, Lager, and their seasonal Octoberfest. I had the Red Brick Ale which wasn’t all that exciting but a pretty solid beer. They had an extensive liquor selection with some specialty tropical drinks. We ate at JP Henley’s that afternoon so I can’t comment on the food. Seemed like they had a nice menu though. Overall, decent ambiance, limited beer although I’m always up for trying a new brewpub, good location, $4 pints. I’d go back. | | lithy (156), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | July 13, 2010 Typical chain brewpub in the Gordon Biersch vein. Nothing outside of the standard lineup and Summer What seasonal. Food was pleasant sort of seafood/simplified cajun sort of stuff. A bit pricy though for standard chain food. Had a nice view outside off the second floor looking over the Bridge of Lions. | | bedainedebiere (34), Terrebonne, Quebec | | February 7, 2010 Had lunch (and a few beers...) on Super Bowl Sunday. Not much choice of beers (6 or 7) but their Abbadon’s was available and very enjoyable. Had a Mahi Mahi sanwich that was OK. Good service from a quite good-looking girl... For many customers, it seemed to be more of a restaurant. For a beer geek, it’s an OK place in a small town worth spending at least a few hours (art boutiques and historic sites). | jaimewithaj (4), Florida does not count - explanation | | January 16, 2010 Not a good place if you’re a big microbrew fan as their beers don’t stack up against you’re favorites. The service is fine, waiters server their purpose, but the food is really mediocre. If you find yourself about to enter this place based on the amount of people in the establishment, rest assured that 80% are tourist. |
