Local Harvest just moved a half-block north on Morgan Ford and now is the first storefront on the left as you head south from Arsenal. The new store seems about 3-4 times bigger than the last one, which means there is room for a lot more beer. A little over half of the north wall is devoted to beer shelves and coolers, and the selection is really nice- lots of MO stuff (Schlafly, Boulevard, Charleville, Tin Mill, et al) along with a good balance of American crafts and European brews. Nice, big Stone selection that just hit Missouri one day prior, so that was exciting to see. Also, some of the seasonal and special releases from regional brewers last a little bit longer on the shelves here than at other, more well-known, beer destinations. So (hint hint) if you’re ever in South City and missed out on a release elsewhere (e.g. Charleville Box of Chocolates), there still might be plenty here. Plus, this is probably the best local- seriously local- organic food store. Nice food selection from local and regional purveyors, and the food prices are a little steeper than what you pay at a big grocer but not any higher than, say, Whole Foods. The beer prices are very competitive. The staff is super friendly. There is also a Local Harvest deli across the street with some great sandwiches and some craft beer as well.
