Very hip bicycle theme joint. Get it...the Handle Bar? Cool vibe, cool people, cool revitalized part of town. 6 taps, all locals, all worthwhile. Strong selection of "top-shelf micros" in bottles, plus some cheapies like P.B.R. and Olympia cans. Good food, too. Everything very inexpensively priced. Be sure to weave all the way through to the patio out back. Water ballon fights in the summer and bonfires in the winter, often live music. Very fun place.

HandleBar is a new place over in The Grove neighborhood in St. Louis. The theme is bicycles, and if you ride your bike to the place, you get a 10% discount on your check. The interior is brick, with old bikes and bike parts lining the walls and a nice wood bar on the back wall. The wood seems to mostly come from old churches in the area. The focus is on local beers, and the taps had 3 Schlafly, 1 O’Fallon, 1 Six Row, and 1 Goose Island when I visited. The bottles consisted of 9 Schlafly, 5 O’Fallon, a few Boulevard, Tallgrass, and New Belgium, among some bar standards and a couple cool ciders. I didn’t have any food on my visit, but the pizza and appetizer selection looked really good. Simple, cool place in a great neighborhood, and I love the theme of bikes and local beers. Great addition to the STL bar scene.
