IPAsavedMYlife (9), St. Petersburg, Florida does not count - explanation | | December 21, 2010 I live not to far from this place so I stop in once or twice a week. The selection is gradually expanding since I moved here about four months ago. I still see selections that places with more bottles don’t have. For the size of the cooler i’d give the selection an A+, but it’s too bad they don’t have more space. Prices are lower than Shep’s. Ian usually asks if I need any help, and I decline so I can’t comment on the technical knowledge of the staff. Overall I think it’s a better offering than Shep’s. They carry singles, 6 pks, and a good selection of bombers. They also have 6pks on the top of the cooler which can easily be missed. | | PorterPounder (219), Tallahassee, Florida | | August 5, 2010 Visited here on the way to a Rays baseball game in august ’10. Small little health food store with that patented "fresh" incense-like odor permeating throughout. Beer cooler is tucked away in the back and has about 100 or so singles to choose from. Not an earth-shattering selection, but easily found about a dozen or so I had not rated yet. Found a few old regionals such as Little Kings and Nargansett. Had a few west coast bombers, some Belgians, Brits and Germans and some Eastern Euro lagers. Prices were reasonable. Not a destination by any means - but if on your way to a game - worth a stop. | | markwise (124), North of Tampa, Florida | | June 25, 2010 Ok. So I went here for beer and food. The beer selection was par for Tampa, nothing exquisite, but it is under-utilized so there were a fair number of beers that have come and gone from other places. Maybe because of the prices, that were fair to high. Then there was the service: very incompetent, when available. The guy walked by me looking at the cooler and actually bumped into me before asking for anything. Then I went to eat. The girl actually stopped in the middle of my order to ring someone up that walked in after me. Teenagers behind the deli counter. Like a dummy I stayed. The food was good vegetarian fare, but even the cook did not know what the dishes were served with (I asked, they answered and it came with fries anyway). I will not be back. | | jedinord (24), St. Petersburg, Florida | | February 1, 2010 Considering the size, the beer selection is top notch. Price-wise they are somewhere in the middle... lower than Shep’s, higher than Total Wine. But it is walking distance form my house... so that give it extra points! | | Ibrew2or3 (248), Phoenix, Arizona | | September 6, 2009 Nice little organic boutique type grocery store. Back in the beer corner they use every inch of space to bring us a very nice assortment to choose from. They have a few bottles I’ve not seen elsewhere. I picked up Terrapin Side Project Monk’s Revenge and Flying Dog Kibelo’s Tiple that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Lots of singles to choose from. This isn’t’ too far from Shep’s Deli making it easy to hit both and likely find what you’re looking for. I did. | | nick76 (91), Tampa, Florida | | September 2, 2009 The ambiance is a small health food store. It has a nice deli and impressive beer selection. The service is good but not as beer savvy as some. The selection rival Whole Foods and surpasses The Fresh Market. The food is quite good but everything is expensive except the beers which seem to be pretty close to average. | | fluffy (25), St Petersburg, Florida | | August 15, 2009 hippie dippy natural foods store with decent beer options and the oblibatory maker-your-own six packs. prices are a little steep, but that is typical for upscale granola-head stores like this. eh, there are better options in the area with better prices. |
