Probably the least of this great chain in terms of ambiance. It’s located in a Days Inn which gives it a weird low rent vibe the others don’t have. Plus parking really sucks. The food is as awesome as all the locations in Pittsburgh. The beer prices suck except at happy hour,. They have a bit more crap on tap compared to other locations. Still it’s probably the best tex-mex food in this part of the state.

This place is decent. The food is good for lunch and dinner (breakfast is not good at all). If you go during half price lunch between 2 and 4 it’s so much more worth it. The beer slectionis good, they have a lot of local craft brews on tap and the bar is cool because it engulfs the bartenders in a circle. The service is however slow and not beer knowledgable unless you sit at the bar. I recommend either going when the food is half price or during happy hour

Went for lunch, sat outside, service was quick. Spicey steak burritio was good but we had to ask for chips for the salsa and guacamole. Beer selection was fair with a good selection of mostly local craft breweries. Would go back again.

We really enjoyed this place. I thought they had a fabulous beer selection, specializing in Penn. micros, which happened to be my interest area, but also had some other very interesting stuff like Stone’s 13th anniversary on tap. How do you top that? Plenty of bottles and at least 15 taps. The bartender was knowledgeable and offered samples to cement your decisions. Food - wise this was open breakfast lunch dinner, packed at dinner, dead at breakfast. We ate breakfast here, food was served slow and was cold. Service was decent. Had a nice outside area and a decent non-smoking indoors area. Cranked music inside. We will be back.

This place is always dark, always noisy and usually crowded. The staff know nothing about beer, everything is served in shakers and the service is slow at best. They do have about 20 drafts and maybe 40 bottles that offer decent overall selection. The food is pseudo southwest with a weird twist and are fairly tasty and large for a reasonable price. Not a place to seek out but not bad, and at least they make some vague attempt at craft beer which is more than I can say for most chains.

Generally, this place sucks. The food is terrible (I’ve never had anything I’ve liked here). I hate the gratuitous use of Spanglish on everything. The prices are high. The wait staff couldn’t care less. And it’s filled with undergrads. They do have a scattered but more extensive draft menu, usually including somethings I wouldn’t normally expect to see or that I don’t see elsewhere in town (Arcadia, for example). The beer prices are a touch high, but nothing out of the ordinary for this town. I keep telling myself I’ll never go here again. However, the one shining spot I did experience (and the only reason I made a string of relatively recent visits) was because that had 2005 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot in bottles for $5 bucks and it was stellar. Otherwise, this place can mostly go screw itself.

I frequented Mad Mex a lot during college but during those days you don’t really look into the expensive beers. There food is always good and the atmosphere varies depending on if you are there during happy hour or not. I was really impressed with the draft and bottle selection that was available. I had Stoudts Fat Dog Stout and Victory Hop Wallop on draft and while they may not be in the correct glassware or the perfect pour, they were both highly enjoyable (especially for a total of $5 during happy hour). One of the top spots in State College IMO.

Overpriced food, but decent beer selection and they do happy hours at different times and on different days. When I was there I saw Weyerbacher Hop Infusion, Stone AB/IPA, some Penn brews, some Victory, and some Chimay bottles as well. Decent enough place to grab a draft pint of good beer, but I won’t be going back a lot for their $9 burritos.

I really do not know why this is on here. This is a restaurant above all and the "bartenders" really do not know what they are doing. They have no good glassware for some of their beers. The website claims to have certain beers on draft but when I go there they are never there. The food is good though.

I was blown away by the beer selection but the food and service both left something to be desired. A bit pricy as well, but if you’re looking for more exotic beers from your bar then all for.
