Awesome distributor. They have the largerest craft brew cases in state college hands down. The people are nice and super knowledgable, the only down side is they aren’t open on Sunday. This was my go to place before parties.

Overall, Pletcher’s is nice. They have a good selection of Pennsylvania beers and some of the bigger Micros (Stone, Bells, DFH). I’d like to see some more regional breweries from nearby states and less swill. There’s so many kinds of pisswater I’ve never even heard of before, available here. I did have a good experience with the staff. I called to ask if they were going to get Victory Baltic Thunder in. They had just sold out of a small number of cases. They took my number and said they’d order more and call me when it came in. They did just that and set aside a case for me. Excellent! Otherwise, I’ve not had overly helpful service in the store, but the guys are friendly.

Definitely my favorite place to buy a case--with the possible exception of KClinger’s Tavern in Hanover (where I can take home a mixed case of highly-prized treasures, if I’m willing to shell out the loot). Great selection of regional micros, though I’ll agree with some of the other posts that it’s very disappointing not to see the kind of beer I like to lay down (like Hair of the Dog) and other oddities (Belzebuth Ale, Flying Dog ales, Schlenkerla or DeGroen’s Rauchbock, Orkney Skullsplitter, Bell’s Explorer Stout, North Coast Old Rasputin, Froach Heather Ale, Hitachino Nest, Baltika, etc...) But hey, maybe they’ll read this and take the hint...

Stone Smoked Porter/IPA/Arrogant Bastard, Weyerbacher Quad/Blithering/Hops Infusion/Prophecy/etc/etc, Stoudts Tripel/Fat Dog/Double IPA/etc/etc, Orval, Duvel, Chimay, Dogfish Head... basically a decent selection from around the region, but lacking some of the more coveted items such as Hair of the Dog and the Stone RIS - things that Zeno’s gets from folks down south of town a ways... I guess the selection is OK, but this being my first time in a store/distributor which requires 24 bottles to purchase, man, I don’t think I’m going to walk in a plop down $160 for Arrogant Bastard, or $99 for Orval. I need to find a six-pack shop with a wide selection, then I’ll be happy. The building is at least clean... it’s just a small warehouse, everything stacked on shelves, everything clearly marked.

Best distributor in town, before I graduated it was my place of choice to purchase beer (over any of the bottle shops, that is). Decent micro selection (cases of DFH world wide stout are always nice to see), but not overly extensive. Still, they often had something worth trying. And for the poor college kids, sometimes they even had slightly outdated cases significantly marked down. Not a bad deal when you’re living on ramen.

Best distributer in State College! Good selection of beers from around the world, good micro brew section that continues to grow. Prices reasonable.

I also think its the best distributor in State College, good micro selection, decent german and belgian selection, and staff is usually helpful or at least efficient. Better than the other distributors nearby

IMO, the best distributor in State College area. Besides all the macros, great selection of PA micros, regionals (Flying Fish, DFH, etc.), Germans, and Belgians (including Chimay). The staff is friendly and very knowledgable, and they’ll make an effort to get you something if it’s within their system. Imports and hard-to-find cases are a little pricy (Chimay Bleu $82, DFHWWS $105) but not unreasonable for being located in the middle of the state.
