| EithCubes (158), , Germany | | December 27, 2011 [ Updated December 28, 2011 ] Major find, culchiem! The British beers here are virtually unseen in Berlin (and all of Germany that I know, come to think of it) and some include the CAMRA stamp of approval, but the winner is the collection of over 400 kinds of whisky. Super comfortable, familial setting, a corner bar with an somewhat stylish living room where the people really know their booze and love to talk about it. Even the room for smokers doesn’t feel like the prison cell it does in many places, and as a non-smoker, I was happy there wasn’t any leeching. Great vibe for me. | | culchiem (25), , Germany | | October 12, 2011 [ Updated January 21, 2012 ] A small pub in the Steiglitz area. Specialises in Scottish whisky, 429 on the menu, but has a very decent selection of Scottish beers in bottle and tap. Also has the standard English craft beers in bottle. The place itself looks like it was formerly a retail shop. Subdued decor with a very impressive whisky display behind the bar. Staff are excellent, you can really see it is a passion. Each bottle comes out on a tray and is opened at the table. While I was typing the the barman came over to explain the best way to pour my Angus Ol Ale. Food is standard bar fare. A very nice find, Berlin needs more places like this |
