| 3fourths (962), Boulder, Colorado | | May 24, 2012 A fun Czech beer bar to bring back memories of past travels, but definitely does not feature Czech prices - more than 6-10x that! So, if you’re craving well made Czech lager this is the place to go. The Svijany svetly was in good shape, the Bernard not so much. | | SaintMatty (128), Uppsala, Sweden | | July 7, 2011 A good pub to visit for Czech beers. I’ve not tried the food, but I’ve heard that it’s meant to be good. Not far from the Bishops Arms on Folkungagatan which is also well worth a visit. | | GT2 (196), Washington DC | | July 7, 2011 Very fun place that I highly recommend! One of the few places in the world that gets unfiltered Pilsner Urquell on tap for special occasions. I think Czech pils is the exclusive offering with generous pours in proper glassware of about 6-8 different Czech pils. Even pils that a beer nerd may consider inferior are served so fresh and so perfectly that almost anything is outstanding if you are in the mood for hoppy session lager. Food was fantastic and true to Czech style. In short, Stockholm has its own mini Czech Republic. A little bit difficult to find this place however...I would consider it a hole in the wall by my standards. So go out looking for it and don’t give up! | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | April 11, 2011 It was not hard to imagine being in the Czech Republic - tasty and genuine food and beers, with pilsners every bit as good as in the home country. Food was amazing. Worth going out of your way to find. | | AndySnow (13), , Sweden | | February 20, 2011 Cheap food and a nice atmosphere. Not a great selection of beers, but well worth a visit for a good cheap meal and some nice beer to go with it. | | hirigalzkar (45), ENSKEDE, Sweden | | November 12, 2010 [ Updated March 8, 2012 ] A bar/restaurant that serves great czech/central european food and czech beers (on tap aswell as bottles). Great price. This place can be very crowded. | | Frovigalning (29), Örebro, Sweden | | October 14, 2010 This is where I go when I want cheap beer and food. Not only is the food cheap it’s also very good. The service are a couple of grumpy guys, but they are really fast and attentive. Selection is very limited but if you like lagers they usually have some great stuff on tap. | | Riggwelter (26), UPPSALA, Sweden | | April 13, 2010 Nice place, but not exactly a cosy bar. Usually gets quite crowded on fri/sat and the staff can, at times, be so busy that you have to wait very long for service. Added to that, the beer takes ages to pour, but that’s the way it is. So, if you are here at the right time, not only do you get good beer served the czech way, you cal also get nice, sturdy food. | | drpimento (120), La Crosse, Wisconsin | | June 28, 2009 My local beer loving friends took me to this place last night because of one thing: they have unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell. It is Fabulous! Service was spotty. Friends said it’s easy to get in a tight spot with drunks here and it does have that vibe. But, damn, that PU they have is something else. Wow! | | gyllenbock (90), Stockholm, Sweden | | May 1, 2009 A really friendly and cozy place with a wonderful staff. Very crowded almost every evening.
The beer selection is not big, about 10 different Czech beers on tap. Sometimes they have "beer festivals" when rather unique Czech beers are served.
The food is outstanding and cheap. I especially like the "Pragerschnitzel ".
I have visited Soldaten Svejk at least 50 times. |
