Considering the amount of space they have to work with I think they do a good job. I think being near the supermarket helps with business. The new beer cave was a great addition to the store which added room they really needed. Unfortunately hard liquor is usually a liquor stores cash cow which leaves less room for craft beer. Comparing the store to how it was just a few years ago I think it has improved a lot. If Keyport took over the area that the restaurant is in they could probably do a lot more.

It’s not the prettiest store, the service is so-so, but they had a pretty awesome selection considering how far north it is. Everything is decently priced, and the same thing goes for their hard-to-find beers. I’ll be stopping in here again next time I’m in the area

Update: Stopped by at the end of 2012, and I have to say that Keyport has significantly improved their selection. While they still fall short of their top Duluth counterparts in terms of selection, their walk-in cooler was certainly solid and contained some things you can’t find in Minnesota. Bumping the score up 10 points.

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon. Situated next to Hwy 2 and a grocery store, it isn’t the prettiest of locations. It also doesn’t have amazing selection, but since somebody has already entered it, I’ll review it. The beer is all located in the coolers, with a decent amount of stuff, but nothing that will overly impress. The only really nice thing about the place is that you can make mixed New Glarus and Sand Creek 6ers at very reasonable prices. Other than that don’t expect a whole lot, especially if you are from the Twin Cities. Prices are great, and the service was friendly. Oh, and they gave me a free New Glarus glass as well, so they get points for that too.

The only beer I found out that was new was New Glarus! Other than that beer, it was a waste of my gas going across the bridge! Both Warehouse Liquour & Cash Wise Liquor in Duluth kick butt compared to Keyports poor selection and service!

They use to have Dogfish Head available, but no longer. Decent little bottle shop, open on Sundays (big deal if you’re from Minnesota) and a decent selection. Carry New Glarus which is always good and its very near Minnesota

Not all of the beer wasin coolers. Most of the New Glarus and Central Waters was on the shelf. Small selection, but a decent variety of New Glarus including unplugged, Raspberry Tart and Belgian Red. There is not much here as far as craft beer, but I suspect it is the best thing in the area. They offered a New Glarus glass, but were out of stock, so iI took home a beautiful Coors Light shaker.
