Nice bar, with a modern style when you walk in. The staff is knowledgeable about the 50 rotating taps, sometimes changing daily. There are weekly beer events, whether it be a limited release cask, a glassware giveaway, or special liquor release. Can get a little crowded with the college party crowd on weekend nights.

Best bar to go to when i went to college at FSU. Great selection that rotates weekly, knowledgeable staff, and great prices. The kind of place that you know is going to be packed on the weekends but chill to hang out at during the off days. Oh, and of course the breweries that they’ve been able to bring in for events has never dissapointed. Can’t wait to fly down to visit and see the new downstairs brew pub!

I love this place. Def the best place in town for craft beer. Giant selection and they’re always rotating in new stuff. Can’t wait for the brewery to open. Great happy hour and outstanding service from the bartenders.

Half lounge, half liquor store. Stopped in early on a week night. Relatively quiet, just a few locals. Bartender was less than engaging, but the price for a round of beers was a pleasant surprise; must have some stellar happy hour specials. Had the IPad with me, but the bar’s WiFi required a password that seemed to be top secret. Whatever. Went next store and grabbed a few bombers for later. Good selection, attentive staff.

Best beer bar in the area based on selection and prices. Weekend crowds aren’t conducive to a quiet beer tasting, but weeknights have a great atmosphere and the events are frequent and casks pretty common. A must see place for any craft beer lover coming through the area. Also a bonus that you can bring in outside food to enjoy! UPDATE: Proof Brewing Company has opened downstairs, bringing the tap total to 50, with dedicated lines for lambics & sours. Downstairs atmosphere is cozier, but a much darker feel due to dim lightning. There’s a patio outback with a side-bar as well. Tallahassee’s best just got better.

The Proof crew does tastings every Friday at the bar and ratebeer folks and other enthusiasts are welcome to join as long as you pony up some good large or small format bottles to share that aren’t readily available in Tallahassee. Make sure you PM drowland before joining up for a tasting and get stuff worked out- DON’T drop in and expect to mooch off the rating crew. As for Proof itself, it is a large, dark, open space with large screen TVs for watching games so it is a sports bar of sorts but with a focus on craft beer. Large number of taps were sporting leftovers from various beer events so they were Stone and Dogfish Head tap takeovers...so hard to rate selection here though they did have Cigar City on tap before and a pretty deep bottle list that includes things like Sam Adams Utopias (also can be found at Fermentation Lounge but more expensive). Staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and a few are ratebeerians themselves so it can be quite fun having a beer bar run by ratebeerians of sorts. Cool vibe; didn’t just visit here on a random night and chill so my experience is atypical since I was visiting friends and joining a tasting group. Regardless, pretty cool that such a bar even exists that lets you have a tasting inside on your own terms. Sweet gig- a must for any beer nerds in Tallahassee and without a doubt in a safer feeling part of town.

Proof is definitely the place to go for beer geeks in Tallahassee. Great selection and beers rotate pretty regularly. The modern atmosphere is really nice and usually attracts a good crowd but weekends are packed with college students and loud music.

Best beer bar in Tallahassee. Stopped here to try beers I couldnt get at home and the bartenders were very helpful by letting me sample several beers. The selection was amazing with some rarities and BAs. Unique how its connected to a liquor store. If you are in Tallahassee you must stop here for a few.

The place for beer on tap in Tally. Nice location close to campus with tons of hotel options. Really nice selection for the area, you will not find these tap offerings elsewhere!
