| drowland (116), Tallahassee, Florida | | May 10, 2010 Well-lit, decent grocery store. Not much going on in the beer aisles.
The service is hit or miss. The folks are nice, but don’t know where anything is, and won’t know anything about the beer (it’s a grocery store after all).
As for selection, well, it’s a grocery store, but it’s really not bad. They’re really starting to get a decent selection of craft and import brews depending on which one you hit.
Prices are average to slightly high depending on the moment.
Overall, a decent place to snag a six pack if you happen to be there already and are short on time. Otherwise just go to a liquor store. | | Aurelius (105), Tallahassee, Florida | | December 29, 2009 [ Updated January 30, 2012 ] Glad to see someone finally put this in here. There are multiple locations, but I think that the north side stores generally have a little better selection. You can always get the macros, of course, and there are probably about 50 foreign/micros. Occasionally, you’ll find an unusual brew. You can usually find an example of the style that you’re looking for - which is often hard at the grocery store. If you’re looking for SE regionals, then you can stock up on Abita, Sweetwater, Terrapin. They’ve got Stone. Addendum 1/30/2012 - The store has moved locations to a larger facility. The beers are split up some - there’s a long beer aisle, but there are some organics (Lakefront, etc.) over by the bulk foods and hippie fodder... Belgians and other high end bombers can be found over near the wine. They now have a singles/mix-a-six door, but most of them aren’t that unusual. | | PorterPounder (219), Tallahassee, Florida | | December 25, 2009 [ Updated February 5, 2010 ] Not a beer geek destination - but in recent years has really picked up the pace in stocking some decent micros. Dogfish Head, Stone, Sierra Nevada, Terrapin, Sweetwater, Full Sail and all the common imports - to name a few can be found here. Another location at 3483 Thomasville Rd has a Publix Liquor Store in the same shopping center - but the supermarket actually has a much better selection. | | daknole (204), Scottsdale, Arizona | | December 25, 2009 Not bad. Not amazing. Skip it and head to a real liquor store unless you have no time...then select a sixer from a limited selection. |
