| SHIG (139), Anchorage, Alaska | | March 29, 2012 New Publix location just off I-10 on Thomasville Rd. Easy to find and plenty of parking. This was the first Publix I have ever seen with the build a 6 pack, so I was excited to grab some beers I wouldn’t have otherwise. The selection was above average for most Florida grocery stores. Couldn’t really tell you how the service was for beer, but their overall customer service was good. Like has been said before, if your getting more than just beer this is probably a good choice. | | drowland (116), Tallahassee, Florida | | March 20, 2011 Finally made it out to the new Publix... not bad!
Well-lit, obviously new place with nice displays, including a fair amount of beer in the grocery store itself as well as a display of bombers/750s by the wine as Kevin mentioned down below.
I didn’t get helped much, but I didn’t really require it... everyone was friendly and talkative, though, so I can’t complain.
A great selection for a grocery store... and probably the best selection at a Publix in town. If you’re shopping and want to pick up some brews without hitting up another liquor store, you’re probably in luck here. A wide range of microbrews and imports, including seasonals and new releases. It doesn’t top the high-end liquor/beer stores in town, but it does pretty well.
Average prices, including a few nice sales if you catch them at the right time.
Overall, like I said, a great place to grab a brew if you’re shopping and don’t want to make another stop. Otherwise skip it and hit a liquor store. | | Aurelius (105), Tallahassee, Florida | | December 11, 2010 A long wall of beer, grocery-store style. They’ve got everything from the ridiculous to the sublime - this location doesn’t have an appreciably better selection than do other upscale locations, but it does edge them out somewhat. Mixpack singles available. A few select micro bombers. Southern regionals such as Abita, Sweetwater, Terrapin, Florida Brewing. Some Carribean lagers. Stone, DFH, Rogue. | | PorterPounder (219), Tallahassee, Florida | | November 11, 2010 [ Updated November 20, 2010 ] Brand new Publix that opened in 11/10. Largest selection that I have ever seen at a Publix. One small section devoted to craft singles and common imports - at least 50 or so to choose from. Wide selection of common quality craft - Dogfish, Victory, Rogue, Bell’s, Terrapin, Sweetwater to name a few to go along with the usual BMC. As an added bonus, over by the wine section there is a large rack with about 20 or so select Belgian 750 mls and some US bombers. Not bad at all for a grocery store. |
