Pretty much like all the Total Wine locations Iíve been to on the west coast...
Big warehouse type store with a large selection of all sorts of beers and other adult beverages. They have the usual singles/build your own sixer section as well as four/six packs and larger format bottles (22 oz/ 750 ml).
Not really knowing what the typical selection is at a Florida bottle shop, Iím not sure I can really comment on the quality of the offerings. But, as a visitor, they had a lot of things Iíd never had or seen before, and plenty of breweries that are sort of unknown outside of the local area, at least to me. So, you can definitely rack up some ticks here (which I did).
Prices are fine and itís basically around the corner from Cigar City, so easy enough to get to.
Great shop very friendly staf loads of beers. Not really the special ones but loads of quality. I found (thx knickskicks) a new country and multipels of other rare ones. Also a great selection of belgian, german (weisse and bamberg) and very nice Canadians. Easy to access with car or walking if u are at the CCB brewery. I canít judge price level - but seems OK, some of the foreign once were a wee bit pricey.
A big old liquor store with a selection of beer that would present a fair few options for the average beer geek. Not a lot of really special stuff on offer but plenty of regional obscurities. Good value. This place is a short walk from Cigar City so if youíre in the vicinity you should step in here to pick up a few bottles.
A typical warehouse-style Total Wine outlet. The selection of beer available was pretty middle-of-the-pack for the chain. On the upside, some CCB stuff that wasnít available at the brewery was being sold here, so itís worth checking out if you strike out at the brewery. Prices were decent, service was non-existent. Overall, nothing to get excited about, but itís worth having a look in.
Looks like your average Total Wine. Big selection of stuff from around the U.S. and some imports. Decent selection of locals. Nothing really stood out for me so I left empty-handed. Service was there if you needed it but mostly passive. Okay prices. Okay stop if you have time to kill I guess.
Stopped in here today while in town. My first time at one of these. Big warehouse place with huge wine and liquor selection. Beer selection is solid enough but nothing particularly tough to find. Highlights were Clown Shoes and Bruery regulars. Otherwise, can find most of the stock nearby at small shops here in Gainesville. Left here without buying a single thing.
Same as the one in Clearwater. A bit more Cigar City stuff, but that is to be expected as they are literally one block away. Decent service, the beer person there the evening I went seemed to know a couple things. Price is as expected up to a bit higher than expected on some stuff. Great stop after hitting up CCB.
Total Wine & Moreís Tampa location is in a plaza on Dale Mabry just off I-275. There is plenty of parking in the plaza.
The interior is laid out similarly to other stores. The beer is located toward the right side in a couple aisles of shelves and in coolers.
The beer selection consists of several hundred bottles, segmented on the shelves more or less geographically. Many Florida and regional breweries are represented, such as Cigar City (they had all of the Gentleman series), Terrapin, Brew Bus, Highland and Florida Beer Company. Other domestic craft breweries like Pike, Green Flash and Bruery, plus imports from all over.
Service on my visit was pretty typical of visits to other stores in the chain. Nobody really went out of their way to ask if I needed help, and checkout was friendly.
Overall Total Wine & More is usually a worthwhile stop for finding local beers, and as usual I left with several bottles.
