| FatPhil (222), Tallinn, Estonia | | May 7, 2012 Nice little boozer. Love the cosy feel, in part accentuated by the low ceiling, and the warm wooden tones. Decent selection of beers, some nice ones that I’ve not seen anywhere else. English real ale was nice to see too. Food was toasted sarnies which were adequate for what we needed - to fill a hole, but alas I burnt my lip on the sticky lava that was within. (No taste buds harmed, fortunately.) Sport on the telly, if you’re that way inclined. Anna said there’s more space downstairs, where it’s quieter (carpetted, for a start). Worth popping in, certainly. | | olio (12), Tampere, Finland | | May 5, 2012 A quiet place at day time and mostly at evenings also, but gets very crowded if there is a band playing on the basement level.
Mostly has very friendly service with occasional chats and recommendations of the newest products.
Has usually one cask of beer and one of cider, decent selection of draught beers with a good circulation. Has a good selection of US import brews but the fluctuation isn’t that great. However, occasionally you might find some nice aged vintage beers in return. Decent selection of british beers and ciders also. Random theme weeks now and then.
All in all, one of my regular visits as it is located very close to Gastropub Tuulensuu. | ration (2), Tampere, Finland does not count - explanation | | April 21, 2012 A traditional English pub with a very distinct odour. Has a good collection of specialty beers and a changing cask. Has a basement section that is used for small bands which sometimes fills the place with an eccentric mix of punks or hippies. | | lusikka (25), Tampere, Finland | | June 4, 2011 This place has evolved quite recently to a special beer place. This year they’ve had Pikkulintu US weeks, Real Ale & Cider weeks and Brewdog weeks.
There are usually one real ale and one real cider on tap. Bottle selection has some not-so-common beers that cannot be found from elsewhere. Service is usually good. This place gets really crowded in the evening as there’s a stage downstairs for bands.
If you are planning to visit Gastropub Tuulensuu, check this out as well. | | TBone (173), Pori, Finland | | June 3, 2011 This is quite new place which has a bit different selection of beers than any other place in Tampere. Recently they had eg. BrewDog theme weeks with lots of BrewDog on tap. Like name says, they usually have something from O’Haras on tap. Under the same ownership than Tuulensuu, so staff is well picked, although not everyone of them are beer-knowing. | | rosenbergh (275), Helsinki, Finland | | June 29, 2010 Good selection of Pikkulintu US imports. Real Cider available as well. Good service at least this time. Not that cheap though. OK place and it’s part of Gastropub chain in Tampere. | | oh6gdx (139), Vasa, Finland | | June 23, 2010 Just one square from GP Tuulensuu. Quite Britishinspired selection, with also some US beers from Pikkulintus selection. Carries realcider, and also usually has some other nice treats from the British isles draught (Brewdog Paradox, Thomas Hardys etc). Quality of the staff seems to vary a bit, from knowing much to not-knowing-that-much-at-all. |
