Had dinner and some beers here one night. Typical looking pizza place right in downtown Tempe. Good service, the server really knew his beer and made some great suggestions. Good beer selection including some tasty local beers. Pizza was really good, seemed like fresh, quality ingredients. Value was about average for food and beer. This is a cool place, really good pizza and good beer selection.

Mellow Mushrooms usually have unique decors but this one looked pretty nondescript by their standards. What wasn’t nondescript was the beer list which had a ton of locals and even a lost abbey on tap. The Bartender couldn’t be friendier helping me find something I haven’t had before and making sure my pie was just how I like it. The prices at mellow mushrooms can be hit or miss and his ne was on the high side. Still for a place located on a college campus you’d be hard pressed to find a better beer list or friendlier personnel.

Their specialty is the infamous "not particularly flavorful extra-wide grease pies" of which you’ll see college students by the truckloads choking down at tables and booths. Still, this is a fun eatery to visit if you’re bored on Mill and have money to burn. I like this place; the tap selection is exceptional and the space is utilized in such a way it actually makes me want to come back and dine again, even if solely on dough and beer. Obviously it has its flaws, but with crisp Jacksons in my pocket and an hour to kill, I can see myself sitting at the bar and having a good time, even if for a brief moment.

Solid selection of taps with a few hard to find locals. Gotta love their pizza, but the bill can hurt. Welcome to Mill Ave.
