| DuffMan (185), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | | April 7, 2012 I’ve been to at least a half-dozen Whole Foods in various states at this point, and I give this on extra points for its layout and for how well-organized their stock is. They have sections organized according to RateBeer ratings, limited releases, new Euro imports, and local craft. Very well presented, and a very good selection. My only criticism is true of all WFMs: you will pay more on average for most beers, particularly for the bigger, non-local, limited releases. Bonus points for having a knowledgable and helpful staff on hand. | | Ibrew2or3 (248), Phoenix, Arizona | | December 3, 2011 Showed up when they were offering samples of local brewed beers. Very cool that they are involved in the local beer scene. Their selection is small with a good deal of beer kept cold but other beer left out at room temp. Overall a small selection but some offerings I have not seen anywhere else (eg Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Bacon Maple). Typical Whole Foods with a great food selection and good beer selection for a grocery store. Still the Whole Foods just south on Hwy 101(exit at Ray) is far better. | darwinoid (3), Arizona does not count - explanation | | June 13, 2010 The beer selection has gotten better over the past few months as the speciality manager has been bringing in new bottles (e.g. O’Dells, Red Hook & New Belgium seasonals) and growlers (San Tan). Talking with him, he told me that he had fifteen more new beers to stock and asked me what I wanted to see. A few weeks later, my request appeared. | | Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | February 5, 2010 I usually do the whole foods, for the foods. I can rely on the place for decent food selection, what I need to carry around (crackers and water) on pubcrawls and breakfeast day-afters, and a place to ear with sterile cuttlery. Some of the whole foods are becoming serious beer store contenders, however not this one. This is a smaller Whole Foods by any consideration. Decent selection if you live nearby and are walking or biking over for a couple beers for supper, hwoever a short drive takes to to far superior selection at Tops or Papago bar/store. | thefrutigers (7), , Arizona does not count - explanation | | July 11, 2009 use to have a good selection of brews... then ??? | | hellbilly (130), scottsdale über alles, Arizona | | March 31, 2008 not really sure why this whole foods is on RB. the beer selection is worse than the safeway. if you need lecithin granules then you go here... | FuntonBunton (2), Tempe, Arizona does not count - explanation | | October 4, 2005 Good food. Good choices on beer, but I have tried almost most of them already. Smells like hippies. |
