| jonno (92), , Japan | | January 15, 2012 Great bar with some very cool people who obviously love their job. The happy hour is fantastic - you have to pay the cover, but a few pints soon makes it negligible. The Beer in Japan app waives the cover charge, but not during happy hour. Lots of Dinosaur action. the big glass is not actually a pint BUT it is filled right to the brim - no heads here. Limited selection on tap would be the main weakness here, but when they get a few ace beers on tap at the same time, you can’t complain. Last night was Stone IPA, Maui Ginger Saison and BP Victory at Sea, as well as Kirin Heartland and Hoegaarden for the cheapos. They have a pretty good selection of spirits too. Excellent little spot if you find your way up north of Tokyo or they have a few good beers on tap (Check http://r.gnavi.co.jp/g452901/menu6.html). | | laiti (12), Tampere, Finland | | October 1, 2011 Visited 06.09.2011
Rather big to be a pub in Tokyo. On the second floor, just above Family Mart. Search for ’Beer Saurus’ in Google Maps and you’ll find it better than with the ratebeer map. Staff was friendly and we had a chat about craft beers in english. There was a service fee of 300 yen but I was rather happy to pay that. I also hit the happy hour, so the prices were reasonable. Not very much Japanese stuff here, mostly USA and Belgium imports. | | TimE (189), Tokyo, Japan | | June 13, 2011 Big place (75 or 100 people could ft in?) for Japan with the theme being Dinosaurs. Large TV that shows lots of sports - unlike in Western countries, this is a very rare thing in Japan. The food is really good - have the ribs, you won’t regret it. The staff are super friendly, some of the friendliest staff in Tokyo. Ken, the manager, speaks some English. Draft beer is fairly limited, but they get in some really rare, amazing stuff - I just had Stone RIS Bourbon Barrel on tap over the weekend. The bottle selection is pretty good, but you’ll want to visit here for the draft beer. Check Twitter for a listing of what they have on tap. Also note, they have the best Happy Hour in Tokyo - 50% off all draft beer, everyday from 6-8pm!!!! A bit tricky to find. The easiest way is to go underground at Ikebukuro station, take exit C6. Once you are at street level immediately cross the street, then turn left. Walk about two blocks and it is in the same building with Family Mart on the first floor. One extra point, for having the coolest pint glasses in Tokyo - once you see it you will understand! |
