88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 ultimatepoche (44) Lille, France | May 13, 2013 Impressive and cosy place in the shibuya district. Was there with three of my friends, we’re pretty much beer geeks; and we were thrilled while looking at the tap menu, bartenders were nice and helpfull. A very good place to go. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 rekkabell (1) , | April 19, 2013 Id heard of Good Beer Faucet while searching for craft beer places in tokyo. We arrived around 9h30 only to see the place was full, we were told it was normally best to reserve. The waiter was amazing though, he gave us his card and told us to call him personally within an hour so we could know if there was room. We spent an hour elsewhere and called, the waiter had kept places for us! The service was fantastic, everyone was unbelievable helpful and kind. The beers on tap were delicious, prices youd expect to pay in tokyo for a good pint. Ambiance was a bit hectic around 9h30 but around 11 it was much quieter, less people makes a definite difference in this place. Better to go later in the evening when it empties out a bit! Really loved the place, but dont know if ill return since its situated in Shibuya. I feel this place would fit better elsewhere :)... shibuya doesnt have a great ambiance in general. Good Beer Faucets would fit in nicely in a quieter area with an open terrace ;) | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 KansaiBeerLvrs (42) Kyoto, Japan | April 13, 2013 I dropped by this place in Shibuya at the end of a night out in Tokyo. The service was nice, the selection with 40 taps on hand was quite good-a bunch of Japanese & American craft. The atmosphere was shiny & nice. Kind of like an American sports bar, lots of chrome & cool bottles along the bar around the wall. Prices seemed average for Tokyo, I didn’t try the food but had a good time and heard they plan on opening a branch in Kyoto which I am looking forward to! | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 AndySnow (44) Stockholm, Sweden | April 1, 2013 Nice selection of beer. Service is fast and good. Not any problem with getting along with English. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 15/20 shoulderbroken (119) Tokyo, Japan | July 13, 2012| Updated April 5, 2013 Nice place not far from Shibuya station. Lots of American taps and quite a few Japanese micros. Some Brewdog too. Always something good to have. Happy hour 200 yen off a pint from 5-8 Monday to Thursday is a good offer. Decor is modern and minimal. Food is nice, but maybe a bit pricy and the serving staff are a bit hard sell on it. English is spoken here, if that is your bag. Think they have a link with Baird as they always have a lot of their beers on. Maybe a few too many. For some reason every time we go in, they seem to be showing 5 year old Champions League football highlights programs, but with the volume down though, so you can easily ignore it if you want. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 nate2g (443) Boomtown! / Waikato, New Zealand | June 26, 2012| Updated April 5, 2013 Visited with Chuwy and Simon. Modern bar with a friendly and chatty owner. Located above a convenience store. Has a heavy focus on US taps which is common amongst the beer bars here. Nice enough venue but is lacking character. | 86 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 TimE (216) Tokyo, Japan | May 7, 2012| Updated May 9, 2012 I gave this place some time before reviewing. I am still a bit mixed on the atmosphere, as it feels more like a sports bar, but since they do show sports and have a ton of taps, I can’t really knock that. Beyond the atmosphere - solid food that seems to be getting better and better, 40 taps with a good focus on both domestic and foreign beers, with Baird making a couple beers just for them (the Imperial smoked porter is unreal!). I really think the tap list is very well thought out and I would go out on a limb and if a place was to be judge for taplist alone, this is probably the best place in Tokyo (huge number of taps, lots of rotation and lots of interesting stuff on tap). Prices are slightly higher than I would expect, but there is a happy hour from 5-8pm each day with beers 200 yen off. The beer menu is a flip book and I don’t think is the best way to show what is on tap that day. Still, for any beer geek rolling through Tokyo, it would be a shame not to visit this place. Dede the manager is a great guy who makes the best hummus in the world, IMO. | 80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 KyotoLefty (350) Kyoto, Japan | January 24, 2012| Updated March 15, 2012 Like this place a lot. Still new, but it is very sleek and modern slooking, and the manager (who pretty much served us personally when we went) is doing a great job. I hear complaints about service sometimes, though. Good selection of beers, though I would cut the number from Baird in half, as it’s basically walking distance to 2 of their Taprooms. One to watch. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 EdKing (101) London, England | January 5, 2012| Updated March 15, 2012 Came across this place when I got lost looking for Craftheads, but well pleased I did. Modern, minimal, but smart bar overlooking the street. Not very busy when I went and needs more punters, but beer list was very good and more importantly when the beer was served it was in fantastic shape. Nide Monster CIPA served perfectly up to the pint line and a delicious Swan Lake Imperial Stout. Run by Dede who clearly knows his stuff well, I’ll be coming back here regularly for good beer and it’s in a great location just around the corner from The Aldgate. Importantly there is NO COVER CHARGE, which is a big big plus in Tokyo. Food nibbles were also very tasty. | 72 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 15/20 jonno (105) , Japan | December 30, 2011| Updated April 16, 2012 Another great place to add to the now beer mecca that is Shibuya (!?). Owned by the good beer distributors (goodbeer.jp) and run by Dede the affable beer lover. 40 taps. Lots of Japanese and american stuff. A lot of Baird stuff as the owner is linked to them. Proper glassware. Big open area. A little chic and lifeless, but is still new and finding it’s feet. Looks out on the street. Easy to find. From Hachiko station walk north towards H and M when you see Don Quiote (like a crazy compact walmart) turn left and follow the street til you see it above a family mart. Good stuff to make a three way pub crawl between here, aldgate and craftheads, with a stop or two thrown in with some of the smaller, less established places in the area. |
