6 reviews for World Beer Pub and Foods Bulldog
| KyotoLefty (131), Kyoto, Japan | | August 1, 2009 Small, crowded joint near Ginza. They had lots of different American and Japanese craft beers in great condition, for average Tokyo prices. Servers couldn’t seem to keep the customers straight in the crowd. Beers seem to change quickly, making it a good place to stop in any time you are around. | | jonno (28), Brisbane, Australia | | July 5, 2009 Interesting place. Lots of old memorabillia and such adorn the walls. Very rowdy on a Friday night. Table next to us was drinking iced tea in a bitburger glass. Good selection on tap and bottle, although three quarters of the taps had run out when I was there. Also got scalded for serving myself water from the jug near my table! Haha only in Japan. | | abemorsten (13), , Norway | | March 10, 2009 Located inside a shopping mall (Ginza Inns 1) under the freeway, it can be a bit hard to find, so bring the address Great place to sample beer and pretty decent food. A few japanese craft beers, and several american craft beers (Green flash and Stone brewing among others), They even had belgian kriek and lambic. Friendly staff (although the real beer enthusiasm lies with the manager, who is a really great guy). Managed to visit twice during a week holiday. No regrets - all worth it. Highly Recommended. | | wetherel (80), Encinitas, California | | July 4, 2008 TimE brought me here. A nice place in a mall with a decent selection (30 bottles) of craft beer: some from Japan, some from U.S. A couple of nice Japanese micros on tap too. Decent food. Not nearly as good as Popeye’s but still pretty nice to visit. I was looking at a bottle of peat-flavored IPA and the owner gave it to us. That was really nice, even though the beer was pretty bad (but interesting). | | Capa (80), Yokosuka, Japan | | May 24, 2008 Only had time for one beer here, but the tap and bottle list will bring me back. Exceptional? No. But a very solid lineup. Mostly Japanese breweries but a small international lineup as well. Prices were really reasonable for Tokyo. The food was very tasty and also well priced. I’m really looking forward to coming back here. | | TimE (130), Tokyo, Japan | | July 8, 2007 [ Updated June 20, 2008 ] The reason to come here is the three constantly rotating guest taps that are always serving the freshest beer in town, IMO. Guest taps are usually seasonals from places across Japan (including some taps you never see anywhere else in Tokyo), so each week the selection/breweries changes quit a bit. Prices are good. Food is also very nice. Who knew America=Fried Chicken (very tastey fried chicken at that)?
The magician on Tuesday night is incredible. Definetely the best pub magician I have ever seen and he speaks some English. Very little English spoken by regular staff, but just point to the huge sign that has the Guest Taps listed and go from there. Fun and lively. A great place for a group of people.
Imports are other draft. Some domestics, but mainly imports make up the bottle list.
Update: 03/31/2008 - Taps are now usually 3-5 still constantly rotating, but with more imports (Green Flash, etc) on tap. However, bottle menu has dramatically improved. About 45 bottles of half imports and half micros. Well choosen stuff and some micros you won’t find anywhere else in Tokyo. Turning into one of my favorite places. I have been there about 20 times in past year. Staff is always super friendly.
June 2008 - Striping away some of the bland imports for micros. Now at least five micros on tap at all time, but all of those could change over in one night. Dare to say a leading trend setter for what to serve and how to mix up the line up. Simply Top Notch. |
