JCM3 (3), Maine does not count - explanation | | April 6, 2012 Not a bad beer slection especially if you are looking for Maine and New England beers. Seem to have had more selection before they added liquor. | | Grady546 (10), Bath, Maine | | April 2, 2012 This place is alright. It’s got a decent beer selection, but nothing crazy. The prices seem a little high on some items. I usually only stop here if I need something in a pinch. The staff doesn’t know much about the selection, and the last time I was in they seemed to be very low on stock. | | kreid27 (10), Maine | | November 21, 2011 Bootleggers hasn’t an alright selection, but nothing crazy or that difficult to find. Still, it’s nice to have a local store where I can find a decent brew. | | porterhouse (67), Alna, Maine | | December 23, 2007 [ Updated July 27, 2011 ] New store with a pretty decent selection of interesting stuff - but not quite interesting enough. Stuff I’d expect to see in a good Maine beer store (for example Smuttynose big beers, Nøgne Ø, Schlenkerla, Ølfabrikken, Rochefort, Struise, latest Allagash) wasn’t there on my first visit. Not even all the usual Maine breweries are represented. But this is a new store so it may take some more time. They did have a pretty nice Southampton, Rogue and Brooklyn selection. They seem to have a fair bit of older stock. For example they had the Harpoon Peche from several months ago but not any more recent of the 100 bbl series. Fair selection of Belgian and British stuff and several Belgian Christmas gift packs. Prices seem pretty good. The environment here is clean and controlled. They may let you buy singles but it doesn’t seem they encourage it. So far they’re a ways from the top three (Downeast, Florian’s, Tully’s) beer stores I’ve been to in ME. (UPDATE 9/15/09) I’m not quite ready to numerically upgrade them but this place is getting better. Selection has really beefed up although the range of stuff could be a little better. They also still seem a little off on having the newest releases - they seem a step or two behind on series releases. But still this store is getting much better for the local beer seeker. (UPDATE 7/27/11): Upgraded them a notch on the selection - better quality and more of it.
