The Beerbistro is a beautiful bar right in downtown Toronto. The concept of having luxury associated to beer instead of wine for once is great, except for we beer geeks who have to pay the bill to taste some of the world’s best beers. The service is very good, professional, courteous and custom to your needs. The selection of rare and expensive beers is awesome, but the bill is right there to follow up on it. If you see your lifelong dream beer on the menu, chances are they have it in stock but be ready to pay full price and a half for it. Decor is awesome, the music is a little too low.

Visited summer 2008. A classy trendy upscale restaurant downtown Toronto. Nice classy interior with an especially nice patio on the side with view on modern glassy buildings. Surprisingly large number of taps (about 20) for a place of that style. The tap list is weirdly organised, this is obviously not the work of a beer geek. Tap selection was good, maybe the second best in town behind Volo. Very large bottle selection but a bit pricey (Red Barn = $34, Rochefort 8 330ml = $12, Panil Barriquée = $40). Fancy food that was hit or miss in our case. My plate was excellent but my girlfriend’s rabbit plate was a whole lot of bacon and not that much rabbit. Looking around though I’d say that most plates looked excellent. This is not a pub to hang-out, this really is a restaurant. Not worth it for beer-geeks who want to have a good time but really worth it for the beer-geek who wants a nice dinner with the significant other while keeping the beer into the equation.

Went here during a trip to Toronto a few months ago. Even though we had reservations, we still had to wait briefly because the place was so jam-packed. But it was worth it. The food was quite good - the french fries were out of this world with the homemade mayo and ketchup. I highly recommend them as an appetizer. I also recommend the beer ice cream for dessert - ice cream made with Rochefort 8 (last time I was there, at least). The bottled beer selection is huge. The beer was sorta pricey, but it’s very tough to find that large a beer selection at ANY restaurant, so it was alright. It’s got a trendy setting inside, not really what was expecting for a place called "Beer Bistro". It was worth it though.

Visited for lunch on a Friday. We were literally the first people through the door at 1130am -- and we were glad that we went early as we had no reservations and the placed filled completely within 30 minutes. We sat on the large patio area, and enjoyed the 70 degree summer day. Excellent selection of both beer and food. The tap selection had several beers we had not tried (both local and import) and the bottle selection was the most impressive in Toronto IMO. Prices for draft beers are reasonable, but the nicer and rarer bottles were very expensive $30 and up). The food that we had was outstanding as was the service. Our server actually was able to talk fluently about beer. This was our favorite place during this last visit to Toronto.

A very trend stop in downtown Toronto. The bar area was busy, but the hostesses and bar tender were welcoming and friendly to beer geek particulars, such as myself. I enjoyed a sampler of local Ontario specialties, and paid a fair price. They had some rare Cantillons for much more exorbitant prices. This is a place I would continue to visit if in Toronto.

This place was heaven. They had outdoor seating, great food, and a great beer selection. I found plenty I had never had. Be sure to asked for the Cellar list as it has a nice selection of aged barley wines and Cantillions. The food was excellent, each selection was given a style of beer they recommended with the food. The service was great and knowledgeable as well. My favorite beer place in Toronto.

One of my go-to places. Good location, nice looking inside with some couches to sit on if you’re there when it’s not busy. Patio outside is great for the summer. Selection is lacking only in taps, not in bottles. Food is not cheap, but it is good. Their philosophy seems to be "keep it simple, but use expensive ingredients." Going down for 2 or 3 beers and a basket of frites with a friend is always worthwhile!

Great place just super busy. A bit pricy too but worth the money.

Was able to walk in here on a Thursday afternoon and sit right at the bar. Very nice place. Good and helpful service and good location for me. I wasn’t able to sneak in any food but from what I was seeing served, it looked fairly good. Good selection of bottles and taps. I loved being able to get three different tasters for only $6. They did have several very expensive bottles though, but some rare ones.

Nice clean-looking, high-ceilinged restaurant. Bar area often crowded after work M-F but very quiet on weekends (not a suprise given location in heart of financial district). Service is consistently very good. Food can be mixed although the pulled pork sandwich is incredilble. Very nice selection of taps and bottles with mix of Ontario craft, US micros and interesting Euros. More expensive than many Toronto spots (though again, not surprising given the location). Definitely one of the top spots for beer in Toronto.
