| PatIrish (12), Toronto, Ontario | | December 21, 2011 My experience at the Town Crier, was underwhelming. From the service to the ambiance, it just never really did it for me. The tap selection was a bit of a let down as well. | | AGAquino (20), San Juan, Puerto Rico | | September 28, 2011 Good selection of beer. Most European selections are served in smaller 250-330ml sizes, at quite reasonable prices. | | robinvboyer (54), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario | | August 23, 2011 Very very nice decor, very upscale looking, i’ve been here before whe it was called The Fat Belgian. Pretty impressive list of taps. Some nice german hefes and lagers yiu wont fnd very often. Service was great and friendly and knowledgale. The food is decent, but nothjng to write home about. I would go back. | | JoeMcPhee (398), Toronto, ON, Ontario | | July 31, 2011 Just south of where the old Smokeless Joe’s used to be (not sure when that place closed up) and has a similar layout. A small footprint inside (although with an upstairs dining area in addition to the downstairs pub, they’ve done a good job of not having the space too cramped, but is still somewhat cozy. Slightly upscale decor with lots of dark wood and red leather everywhere. The patio here is jumping most of the summer so you may have to wait if you’re planning to drink out there. There are a lot of taps - pretty much everything from Belgium or Germany (although it’s standard fare for Ontario - they certainly aren’t bringing their own brands in). Everything comes in the appropriate glass which is actually pretty nice to see. It’s not a beer geek place, but it has a solid selection and the prices are fair by Toronto standards. |
