| Dogbrick (423), Columbus, Ohio | | June 1, 2011 (Visited 08/2010): Kind of stumbled across this BevMo which happened to be right across the street from our hotel. The store is in a shopping plaza at the intersection of Hawthorne and Torrance, and there is plenty of parking.
The store is similar to most other BevMos I have visited. The beer is categorized in shelves in the rear, along with a few coolers full.
Imports are divided by country for the most part, with a good array of beer from the UK, Germany, Belgium, Russia etc. Domestic beers are well represented as well, especially from the western part of the country. Brewers like Alesmith (they had Decadence!), Lost Abbey, Rogue, Speakeasy, Russian River, Lagunitas and many more were present.
Service was about what I expected. No beer experts were falling over themselves to tell me about all the brews they carried but at least one person asked if I needed help on both my visits.
Overall hitting BevMo is pretty much a no-brainer when I am out west. There is always something good to bring home. | | breaks808 (13), California | | February 28, 2011 This is one of the better bevmo shops in the Los angeles area. I got lucky and got some vintage stuff from them that they had in the back fridge. Like i said, better selection than the other LA bevmos. | | trampdaddy (43), California | | March 14, 2010 Excellent helpful and knowledgable staff!! | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | December 28, 2009 Typical BevMo environment. Perhaps a bit more compressed that some stores. Easy parking. Selection was pretty decent. I personally picked up a Rodenbach Grand Cru 750ml, GI BCS 22oz and DFH WWS (first time I’ve seen it in California). Pricing for those three was $33 and change with tax. Check out people didn’t seem knowledgeable about beer, but it is BevMo, and they did their job’s efficiently. | | tangent (15), San Pedro, California | | November 26, 2009 [ Updated December 11, 2009 ] If you have never been to a Beverages! and more, it has a warehouse type setting. This one usually has a pretty wide selection of brews. Stone, Lagunitas, Port, Green Flash, Deschutes, Rogue, Unibroue, then all the usual Belgians and some other imports...Nothing crazy but pretty damn good. I always enjoy going here, just because they do have such a wide selection compared to anything else around the area and i seem to get lucky with seasonals there as well. All in all, not too much different from the other Bevmo’s in the area, although they have a few pretty knowledgeable employees here. | | BeerandBlues2 (358), Lone Tree, Colorado | | August 26, 2009 The selection is decent but I was hoping for more beer than they carried. They had a few AleSmith but nothing special. | | elihapa (65), Honolulu, Hawaii | | June 19, 2009 Decent selection, warehouse environment, good socal selection. Nothing stunning over here, but its nice to see good Alesmith (speedway, numbskill), and the same with Green Flash and Stone. No real complaints, though I continue to be frustrated that I can’t find Bruery, Russian River, HotD. Decent, overall. | | Headbanger (59), Aurora, Illinois | | April 12, 2009 Pretty decent selection of local micros with a few rarities from Stone. Everyone very helpful and outgoing. Would visit if in the area. The only problem I have with BevMo’s in general is that most of their stuff is warm. They should expand their cold storage. |
