jerseystout (1), , does not count - explanation | | December 31, 2011 Great beer selection, a lot of 22oz and singles on the side of the store. Prices are average, maybe a little high on certain breweries. My only complaint, is be sure to check the dats on the IPAs. For example, i purchased a pack of sixpoint ipa on 12/30/11 but the cans were marked drink by 12/6/11. The souther tier 2ipa store temperature had a DOB of 8/12/11, purchased on 12/30/11. | | beerbill (80), Laurel, New York | | July 3, 2011 I had to travel to PA for a family get-together and since this place is right off I-80 decided to stop in and break up the trip a little. The store is pretty standard wine/liquor/beer supermarket style layout. The beer selection is good, although I wouldn’t call it great and is definitely a notch below the top bottle shops in NJ. They had a decent selection of singles, although the prices were quite high. For example, Sierra Nevada Beer Camp 12 oz. bottles at $2.99 each. They did have a nice selection of sakes, and I ended up picking up a few of those and left some beers on the shelves. I am glad I stopped in and found a few items to bring home, but I wouldn’t make this a regular stop. | Ceetar (1), New Jersey does not count - explanation | | February 3, 2011 I love this place. Always has an amazing selection of beers (and wine and spirits too). I find new releases, rarer beers, and the popular brands. (As well as the macros)
My one knock would be that what they have in variety they sometimes lack quantity. For example, the Sam Adams Winter Sampler was in and out before I knew it. | | j12601 (214), Poughkeepsie, New York | | January 15, 2011 Not as nice in terms of atmosphere as the place we stopped just before (Gary’s) but what they lacked in big lighting and new construction they more than made up for when it came to the sake selection. Lots of cool new things that I haven’t seen around and of the three places we stopped that day this was the one where we spent the most (both time and money) and left with the most. Impressive sake selection, beer selection was pretty good, service was quick and friendly and this of the three we stopped was the one I’m most looking forward to visiting again. | ESATIKKFAN (2), New Jersey does not count - explanation | | December 26, 2010 Great selection and great service. This is my go to spot in the area. | | Chalsk (39), North Caldwell, New Jersey | | December 11, 2009 [ Updated October 22, 2011 ] This is my spot. One of the largest selection of Belgiums and Craft beers in NJ. Up there with Buy Rite in JC and Boonton. Just below Oak Tree, the king of NJ spots. Updated 10-22-11: I left my name and number about 4 weeks before the CBS release and the clerk said I was the second person who had asked about it. Yet when they went to release the 12 bottles they received they called and said I was too far down the list. Very disappointing. I know a lot of people missed out on this beer, but I had my name in before a list was even started and I spend a lot of money there. As you can note, I am the mayor. So take this for whatever it’s worth. | | vtafro (24), Wayne, New Jersey | | September 29, 2009 [ Updated January 13, 2011 ] Selection is good, sometimes you find a gem. Prices are ok and service is good, manager is knowledgeable. | | njmoons (14), New Jersey | | September 4, 2009
I live nearby so I stopped in one day when I had some time to ’kill’. On the way in they have a sign in the window NJ’s Best Craft and Import Beer Store (or something like that), I was a bit skeptical.
However once inside I was pleasently surprised a nice selection of micros, imports, in 6/4 packs, 750’s, bombers, singles, etc. A very nice selection including locals (although they seemed to be missing area brewery Ramstein?), national micros, and european imports. They also had an extensive selection in the cooler which is always a bonus if stopping on the way home.
Overall among the best stops in Northern NJ, I will be by again. | | lowgun1212 (13), Carlstadt, New Jersey | | July 13, 2009 best selection around. krieks, biere du gardes, oak aged, gueze, etc... | mikalooch (1), , New Jersey does not count - explanation | | October 3, 2008 This is one of the best stores in all of North Jersey. Knowledgeable staff, great selection and recommedations at the front of the store for new brews in stock. I can spend an hour in this place just reading labels. |
