Rock’n’roll, great hamburgers and a good selection of beers to choose from. Definetively a place to try while in Tromsø!

A bar over several floors. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I belive this is the bar in Tromsø with the best selection of beer? They even had the trappist Orval. And also try the local Mack Spesial, here and Ølhallen is the only place you can try it, a nice Stout. The only thing I did not like was the loud Rocknrolla music. But as long as they have their selection of beers, I’ll survive:)

This is the very best place to start a weekend in Tromsø, preferrably on a thursday, the food is best on thursdays believe it or not :-). Usually, the staff are very helpful and chatty about the beers. Unfurtunately, they do not serve any stouts at the time (spring 08). We miss draught Guinness. But we can always find a beer or ten we like, and once a while there is a new goody newcommer! And always a good place for a surprise-date with a man who appreciates his beer...

Very good selection of beers. One of the best in Norway. Some bottle conditioned beers- and right now (Feb. 06) there is an unfiltered Bitter on (from keg).

The town of Tromsø, situated at nearly 70 degrees north, is known for its active life and social atmosphere with lots of different bars, cafes, restaurants, and pubs. The three level Blå Rock Café is the best place to drink beer in Tromsø. At the ground floor you can find a big range of bottle beers to choose from. Among others they stock British, Belgian, German, American and Scandinavian bottled beers. Blå Rock is also an outlet for the local Mack Brewery, and is the only place in Tromsø (apart from Ølhallen) where you can get Mack’s special ales on tap. Good atmosphere and service. Attracts many students, but also a wide mix of clientele. Very popular to eat are their burgers and salads (try the Waterboys salad or the Dead Kennedys burger). An unique place decorated with photos of movie stars and rock personalities. From time to time there is live music (rock concerts) to enjoy at the second level of the pub. TV screen at the ground level with football matches in the afternoon. Non smoking inside. Blå Rock Café is truly a pub for delight in life in the high north.
