| RuneStumo (47), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway | | March 13, 2012 12.03.2012. I have now had the famous North-norwegian dish "Mølje" and it was very good. Its a little smilar to what I am used to but we dont normaly eat the cod-liver. Ok; Nice food - what about beer? Good selection of beers, and I am glad I got the Mack Skarven ESB. They actually have a very good selection of beers from Nøgne Ø and Haandbryggeriet. This is a very nice place! | | showtime (11), , Norway | | March 8, 2011 Probably the best place for beer in Tromsø. Skarven offers a decent selection of bottled beer, and some Mack varieties on tap, along with a seasonal beer when applicable.
The food in this place is good. | | ILikeOl (70), , Norway | | January 23, 2011 [ Updated February 11, 2011 ] Skarven Bar is my favourite Tromsø bar. Unfortunately their selection seemed to have decreased from last summer. In addition to a handful of bottled belgians they offered 7-8 various bottled micros, including two different christmas beers and a Saison from Nøgene Ø, and two brews from Haandryggeriet . Like most Tromsø bars they serve a couple of mediocre Macks on tap.
According to the owner, the staff have taken beerclasses, however, this was not evident to me. | | Rune (234), Tromsø, Norway | | April 23, 2010 For many years Skarven has been the most popular place by locals and visitors alike for drinking and eating in Tromsø. The guesthouse is divided into two restaurants, a few bars and a rather large pub added by a patio that gets very busy during the hours of sunshine, which may include a flaming midnight sun. The pub, Skarven Kro, also serves light meals. Skarven has recently improved their beer menu. In addition to at least four on tap from the local Mack brewery and the usual fizzy stuff in bottles, they now offer quite a large amount of bottle beers from Norwegian micros like Nøgne Ø, Ægir, Haandbryggeriet and Atna. There are a few Belgian ales as well, from Steenbrugge and Chimay, among others (see under Nyheter at their website). I visited the pub yesterday and had a Steenbrugge Blond and Wild Thing from Haandbryggeriet. The tartness of Wild Thing was just perfect as a partner to a delicious casserole of Stockfish (Tørrfiskgryte). Polite and knowledge service – they have got special training in the world of real ale. The beer and food are reasonable priced compared to Norwegian standards (visited, 22.04.2010). |
