82 You’d never find this gem if you didn’t know about it. Located in a student building, you enter through a cafe which you then have to navigate through several doors to the student run Daglighallen. What a cool place. Lots of beers on tap, including four house beers of pretty good quality. Prices are slightly less than average for Norway (still ridiculous). Selection is really good though, including some imports (Brewdog and Mikkeller). Good bottle selection too. Astute service. An absolute must hit when in Trondheim. |
78 Can be a bit tricky to find, so here we go: Over the bridge leading from the city center to the red student house (Student Society), just to the left of the bridge. Go to the main entrance and take the stairs to the first floor, then through the Edgar Café and you’ll find Daglighallen to the right in a rather small, but cozy room. Three of their own beers were on during my visit supported by other interesting Norwegian micros, altogether 18 taps. About 60 bottled beers from Ægir, Austmann, Haandbryggeriet, Nøgne Ø, Kinn, Lervig, De Molen, Mikkeller, Chimay and a few more. Polite service, offering small samples. Cool place playing classic soul music (Otis, Aretha etc). Be sure to visit the Lyche bar downstairs as they may have more beers brewed on the premises (visited 29.10.2014). |
88 A great place, but be warned it does not have a lot of seating. Prices are nice, even if you’re not a member of Samfundet (which I am not). Selection changes, especially on tap but they do seem to keep one or two of their own beers and something from Austmann on tap at all times.
On my visits bartenders have been passionate about beer and hasn’t hesitated to give a sampler or two if you’re not sure what you want to drink. |
96 Fantasic place! Young and viberant atmosphere and cute staff.
Possible to get food form the resturant located in the same house.
Cheers. |
84 Absolutely a recomendable place.
Couzy small bar inside "Samfundet" place with a fine ambianze.
Really nice beer selection!
Students behind the bar also. Can couse some minor problems. Like everything goes slow, and they do not know what the price is.....

78 One of the many bars in the wonderful old students’ building, redecorated autum n2013 and now also with their own brewery. The first brews are very promising, and there is lots of other interesting beers on tap on in bottles. Opening hours are seasonal, get in touch first to avoid disappointment. |
92 Great place for trying interesting beers at a low price. Nøgne Ø and Mikkeller available on tap and bottle. Interesting stuff arriving all the time. Update spring 2012: Now with 2 taps from Lervig. Update august 2013: 10 new craft-taps are being installed. Also brewing its own beer! |
92 Low prices, great selection, and a friendly atmosphere. Very nice place for students and others interesting in testing out new beers at a low price. |
82 Great prices, solid selection of interesting beers (50-ish bottled beers and 9 on tap), including Nøgne Ø (and sometimes Mikkeller kegs) on tap. Staff are friendly and serviceminded, and are generally knowledgeable about the beers they sell. |
