| womencantsail (53), Home of Rebecca Black, California | | December 15, 2010 I had heard this was a great place to pick up bottles, so I decided to drive the rest of the way down yesterday after I went to drop some stuff off with my girlfriend in Fullerton.
Only a few moments after arriving in the beer aisle, Chris came over to ask if I had any questions and if I was looking for anything in particular. He let me know he had some other stuff in the back and ran through a pretty impressive list. Amazing service and very friendly guy. Definitely talk to him if you’re there and even thinking about beer.
The selection was quite good, I ended up walking out with a HotD Blue Dot, HotD Adam, Lagunitas 13th, and a Duchesse De Bourgogne, but there were plenty of other beers I cold have picked up. Plenty of Blind Pig and Pliny, and apparently a decent stock of Consecration kept in the back. Lots of Lost Abbey, Stone, Lagunitas, Moylans, HotD, and many more from CA breweries. A good selection of Belgians too, Rochefort, Chimay, Achel, and a bunch of others that I can’t remember off-hand.
Prices are what you would expect to find anywhere, so I have no complaints there. | | JK81 (39), California | | July 21, 2010 Good selection compare to other ones, guy in charge of the beer knew his stuff. | mcbeyond (3), Newport Beach, California does not count - explanation | | October 28, 2009 I’m not as enamored with Whole Foods as the rest of Southern California, perhaps because I had a slew of them near be when I lived in the bay area. For whatever reason, this location is the best one I’ve come across.
A lot of the things that I can’t get at Hi-Time are still around here. I guess maybe they have more purchasing power.
Also, the beer buyer is very knowledgeable and seems to be around every day. Wish I could remember his name. I’ll fill it in later. | | auerbrau (232), Peace Dale, Rhode Island | | June 2, 2009 What more do you need to know? This is a Whole Foods that has lots of beer. The best part is that they have beer on tap for enjoyment with barbeque. Also, the selections of local beers and Belgians is pretty darn decent. I don’t remember buying anything here, as they had slightly higher prices than the nearby Total Wine. But, still it’s Whole Foods. | | raymondwave (26), , Finland | | November 15, 2007 Dropped by and was surprised of the collection. Lot’s of gems from Europe as well as Canada and US. Picked up some Stone brews like Double Bastard. There was a wine bar inside. Can’t say about service as I didn’t talk to anyone, except the cashier who seemed to dig belgian beers! | | JohnC (137), Mission Viejo, California | | September 10, 2007 This is a brand new market of this chain. It’s street address doesn’t show up oon a lot of the mapping sites, but it’s on the corner of Jamboree and Barrance, on what used to be the Marine Helicopter Base.
Great bottle selections of micros and Belgians, along with a few on tap. Right now St. Bernardus Abt 12 is on tap...
This supermarket has lots of places inside that prepare food, so you can eat, have one on draft and take some home. |
